Here Are The Honey POP’s Top 10 BTS Songs As Chosen By ARMY!

June 13th, 2023 marks a very special day in music history, as it’s been 10 years since the phenomenon known as BTS made their debut! Over the course of a decade, RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook have blown us away with their multitude of talents: singing, rapping, dancing, songwriting, and producing (to name a few.) With a hefty catalog of an eclectic discography, there are so many incredible songs that the Tannies have delivered. In honor of this incredible milestone of an anniversary, we asked you to vote on a selection of songs from their discography for your favorites. So without further ado, here are The Honey POP’s Top 10 Songs, as chosen by our ARMY readers.

10. ‘EPILOGUE: Young Forever’

Coming in at number ten is ‘EPILOGUE: Young Forever.’ This beautiful song comes from the conclusion of The Most Beautiful Moment In Life series and has a special place in the hearts of both BTS and ARMY. Most notably, the song was used in a special “ARMY TIME” surprise at the Wembley Stadium stop of the Love YourselfSpeak Yourself Tour, where over 80,000 ARMY organized to sing the chorus of the song for the members, who were taken by surprise and pure admiration. This song definitely goes on our “try not to cry when listening” challenge.

“‘EPILOGUE: Young Forever’ means so much to BTS and ARMY, and it will always be one of the most special and emotional songs in their discography. BTS has been chasing their dreams since 2013, and they will continue to do so while inspiring fans all over the world to keep going and open their hearts” — María, Writer & Video Editor

9. ‘Cypher PT.3: KILLER’ Ft. Supreme Boi

At number nine, we have one of the four cyphers delivered to us by the rap line. While all the cyphers have a lot of love, it seems that number three truly has captured the love of ARMY to become a fan favorite. The song comes from BTS’s first full-length studio album, Dark & Wild, and has always proven to spark a lot of hype when performed live. Though, as a group, the members have chosen to retire the song at the Yet To Come in BUSAN concert, it seems SUGA isn’t ready to let it go just yet, as he has been performing it at his D-DAY Tour!

“When you put together three of the industry’s finest rappers, you get one of the most iconic songs. It’s a hard-hitting, explosive anthem filled with energy.” — Joanna, Writer

8. ‘Dynamite’

In at number eight is ‘Dynamite.’ This disco-pop bop is the first full-English track by BTS, and they truly outdid themselves in terms of success. Released during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, the song was just intended to bring a little joy during a pretty bleak year, but in return, it gave Bangtan their first-ever GRAMMY nomination and first #1 single in the United States, which made BTS the first all-South Korean act to reach the top spot on the Hot 100. Can you believe it’s been three years this year since it released?

“Not only is ‘Dynamite’ one of BTS’s greatest hits, but it’s also a song that makes you dance all day long! It’s a track that will make you smile the moment you hit play on it. It’s absolutely legendary!” — María, Writer & Video Editor

7. ‘Black Swan’

Placing at number seven is ‘Black Swan.’ The single hails from the 2020 full-length album Map Of The Soul: 7, the conclusion of the two-part Map Of The Soul series. Released as the first single as part of the countdown to the album, ‘Black Swan’ is a stunningly honest and rawly-penned track that was released in line with BTS’s global public art project, Connect, BTS – which brought together 22 contemporary artists across the world curating works that echoed the philosophy and heart of BTS. With a stunning infusion of trap drums, strings, vocals, and rap, this song truly encapsulates the multiple talents of the group.

‘Black Swan’ is a criminally underrated BTS track that portrays the boys at their very best — captivatingly layered, brilliantly artistic, introspective, raw, and overwhelmingly cool! It continues to age like fine wine. — Taylor, Editor

6. ‘Pied Piper’

Next up is ‘Pied Piper,’ a song that really made its mark in ARMY history. The track comes from their album Love Yourself: HER, from the Love Yourself trilogy, and uses the Pied Piper as a metaphor, which describes the relationship between BTS and ARMY using the German folktale Pied Piper of Hamelin. This b-side truly is a fan favorite, and the live performances truly solidified its place in ARMY’s all-time memorable songs. We still rewatch it pretty regularly, tbh.

“If there’s one thing BTS and ARMY are gonna do, it’s poke a bit of fun at each other! ‘Pied Piper’ is one of the smartest and funniest songs about fandom we’ve ever heard. BTS have taken over us, and we’re never gonna be mad about that.” — Anna, Editor

5. ‘Silver Spoon’

Sitting pretty at the halfway point is ‘Silver Spoon,’ from The Most Beautiful Moment In Life, Pt 2. Nicknamed ‘Bepsae’ by ARMY, the song is based on a well-known South Korean proverb, “when crow-tit walk like stork, its crotch will tear.” The b-side sings about unfair social hierarchy in South Korea, which uses the “spoon class theory” as BTS are calling for a fight and change. Between being a concept many can resonate with and its captivating choreography, it’s no wonder ARMY love it so much!

The love I have for ‘Silver Spoon’ is massive! I love getting hyped up to it or listening to it when I feel like I’m being wronged. Absolute banger and one of my favorite dance practices, too!” Jazz, Mentor & Writer

4. ‘Run’

Coming in at number four is the iconic ‘Run.’ Serving as the lead single from The Most Beautiful Moment In Life, Pt.2, the song was released towards the beginning of BTS’s international success, and ranked third on Billboard‘s Best K-POP songs of 2015 list, while also solidifying top spots on several music shows in South Korea. The music video also plays an important part in the Bangtan Universe (and tbh, is just cinematic gold.) This song is truly a staple to the BTS discography.

“I have always enjoyed ‘Run’ because of its lyrics. They sing about being able to push through difficulties and getting back up which has always resonated with me and motivated me to keep running myself” — Lina, Editor & Social Media

3. ‘Fake Love’

In at number three is our girl ‘Fake Love.’ Serving as the title track for the third studio album, Love Yourself: Tear, ‘Fake Love’ received a number of accolades and achievements -including Song of the Year and Best Pop Song at the 2019 Korean Music Awards, debuting at #1 on the Gaon Digital Chart and #10 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it BTS’s first top 10 single in the US. It was performed live for the first time at the 2018 Billboard Music Awards and had a number of performances on US talk shows. It’s still a well-loved single by the septet and we’re so glad it still gets attention from the members, too!

2. ‘Spring Day’

Coming in second place is the queen that is ‘Spring Day!’ Serving as the title track from the album You Never Walk Alone, ‘Spring Day’ has certainly made her mark in BTS history. Winning awards such as Song Of The Year at the Melon Music Awards and the Digital Bonsang at the Golden Disc Awards, this iconic anthem still has the ability to chart to this day and often gives newer BTS songs some hefty competition when it comes to charting. Earlier this year, it surpassed six consecutive years on the Circle Yearly Digital Chart, making it the first song in the chart’s history to reach this achievement. ‘Spring Day,’ you will always be that song!

‘Spring Day’ will forever be my favorite BTS song, there’s no other song that makes me feel the way listening to this song does – the lyrics, the melodies, the music video, everything about it is perfect and simply timeless. — Juu, Team Lead & Writer

1. ‘Run BTS’

‘Spring Day’ was pipped to the post by the one and only ‘Run BTS,’ one of the three new songs we received from the PROOF anthology album last year. This rock-meets-hip-hop banger sings of the journey BTS have been on together over the past decade, from their early days to their current success, and is an incredible end to chapter 1 in BTS’s journey. Truly a song loved by ARMY, fans quickly came up with their own choreography for the track on TikTok before we eventually got a special performance at Yet To Come In BUSAN in October of last year. We’re truly holding out in hopes for it to be a cemented track in the next tour setlist!

“I adore RUN BTS! I love the way it encaptures their decade-long history and is also one you can sing at the top of your lungs!” — Jazz, Mentor & Writer

Happy 10 years, BTS! We are so proud of you and can’t wait to see what’s next for you. Here’s to many more years together!
