You already know that we at The Honey POP love telling you about up-and-coming artists. So trust us when we say that Seattle alternative band, PRETTY AWKWARD will be your favorite band, if they aren’t already. Earlier this month, they released their debut album, Get Weird. We’ve been absolutely obsessed with it. From front to back, this album is absolutely fire! So, we’re so incredibly stoked to be able to premiere their new music video for ‘Castle Walls.’
We wanted to really show the raw live elements of our band. No gimmicks, lights, or smoke. Just ourselves on a blank canvas rocking out, getting weird, having fun.

Sonically and lyrically, it’s an extremely powerful song. The simplicity of the music video truly lets the song speak for itself. You can watch it below.
Now let’s talk about why we love this song. Any time is a good time to listen to it, but it’s the ultimate confidence boost for when you’re feeling down. Just because imposter syndrome is a real feeling, doesn’t mean it’s true, which they make immediately clear with the lyrics, “Making believers / out of gate keepers / they like to make you think that there’s no other way in” But the chorus is what truly differentiates ‘Castle Walls’ from a song to an anthem.
“But these castle walls ain’t built with fire,
These castle walls don’t get much higher,
And I was born for this”
