Here Are 5 Songs To Get Into Xdinary Heroes

Xdinary Heroes debuted in December 2021, and it was clear from the start they were like no other K-band out there. With their influence going more towards punk and heavier rock than other bands, we knew they would be special. Since then, Xdinary Heroes have released some insane songs through four mini-albums. And if you don’t know where to start when it comes to listening to Xdinary Heroes, don’t worry, we got you!

Here are some songs that can help you see the amazing band that is Xdinary Heroes!

‘Drown’ (Originally By Bring Me The Horizon)

Yes, we’re starting off with a cover – but hear us out. This song may not be by Xdinary Heroes, but their cover of ‘Drown’ does show where their main influences come from and get a grasp of who they are. Xdinary Heroes have also covered many different artists, such as Nothing but Thieves, My Chemical Romance, Stray Kids, (G)I-DLE, and 5 Seconds Of Summer. They were introduced to the world with the release of ‘Happy Death Day’ as a first digital single, and while it was enough to hook us, their covers in this debut era also help us the big picture that would be Xdinary Heroes.

It can never be easy to cover a Bring Me The Horizon song, much less one that is as iconic as ‘Drown.’ Yet, they did it flawlessly, adding their flavor, making it evident that Xdinary Heroes were like no other k-band out there.

‘Strawberry Cake’ (Hello, World!, 2022)

The release of Xdinary Heroes’ first mini-album, Hello, world!, changed lives. It truly did. After their debut with ‘Happy Death Day,’ this mini-album gave us a proper look and introduction to the world and universe of Xdinary Heroes‘ music. It was a masterpiece of a debut mini-album like no one could’ve anticipated, and we loved every song, but one has to stand out – and that’s ‘Strawberry Cake.’ No words can express how hard this song goes. The different switches and elements to the song are just out of this world, and that bass – *chef’s kiss*. ‘Strawberry Cake’ shows the influence of punk in their music and how they blend seamlessly with rock and pop. It’s been over two years now, and we’re still nowhere close to being over this song.

‘Lunatic’ (Overload, 2022)

The atmosphere of the Overload mini-album was really something. This was something we had already seen with their debut, but through Overload, Xdinary Heroes were able to truly explore the idea of concepts and how they could translate even into their music, making it more dramatic, more theatrical, and even more special. Having ‘Hair Cut’ as a title track was already a whole statement, but every single b-side followed up on that creepy, spooky atmosphere, and ‘Lunatic’ is the perfect example. If you want to see Xdinary Heroes execute unique concepts through absolute bangers, this song is for you. And it remains still to this day one of their most addictive chorus ever.

‘Good Enough’ (Deadlock, 2023)

Xdinary Heroes may be great at heavy rock songs that feel unique, but from time to time, they have songs that strip it back and focus on their vocals. ‘Good Enough‘ is that; the perfect pop-rock ballad. Collaborating with DAY6’s Young K to write the song, ‘Good Enough’ is one of their most beautiful songs ever. The vocals, the lyrics, the melodies, everything gives us chills. If you ever wondered what would happen if you mixed DAY6’s style with Xdinary Heroes’ style, this would be it. Hands down, one of their best b-sides ever released and the easiest way to fall in love with them.

‘Freddy’ (Livelock, 2023)

Xdinary Heroes know how to open a mini-album and shake the world, but ‘Freddy’ took the title of “opening track” to a whole other level. Out of their latest mini-album, ‘Freddy‘ is energetic, enticing, and an absolute banger. It’s fun, yet has a creepy and unique element, and is the ultimate climax of everything we love about Xdinary Heroes – the lyrics, the concept, the energy. ‘Freddy’ is a one-of-a-kind song and the perfect song to start grasping what Xdinary Heroes are all about. And believe us, you won’t be disappointed.
