A Scene Straight Out of a Music Video

Whether you want to go all pink in a nod to the fantastic Barbie movie soundtrack, vogue your way into the new year surrounded by chrome like Beyoncé’s Renaissance World Tour, or go full sport mode like Tate Mcrae‘s album cover, bring in 2024 with vibes to match your favs.

Of course, you can’t forget to add general New Year’s Eve-themed decor like 2024 glasses, sparkly hats, countdown clocks, and champagne bottles!

Dress Up Like You’re in the Spotlight

Take a dress out of Barbie’s wardrobe, a look inspired by Rihanna‘s electrifying Super Bowl performance, or don a silver ensemble to take you back to the RENAISSANCE World Tour; your outfit should express your favorite pop moments of 2023!

So, hop through memory lane with looks from Taylor Swift‘s eras or bring to life a look from your favs music videos. If it was a look from 2023, it’s fair game!

Taste the Music

Name your dishes and drinks after popular 2023 songs or album titles. How about “Midnights Munchies” or “Bad Bunny Bites”? You can also match your cocktails to the themes and colors of 2023’s top music videos for a truly immersive experience.

Some cocktail themes you can consider are:

A floral cocktail combining gin with elderflower liqueur, lemon juice, and a splash of soda, garnished with edible flowers to represent ‘Flowers’ by Miley Cyrus.

A refreshing drink to remind us of summer with vodka, blue curaçao, and lemonade, garnished with a slice of lemon to represent ‘Cruel Summer’ by Taylor Swift.

Get fun and creative with the food offered! Think of themes like:

Red velvet cupcakes or a dark cherry punch could capture the vibes of ‘Vampire’ by Olivia Rodrigo.

A heart-shaped food item, such as heart-shaped cookies or sandwiches, would be a sweet touch to pay homage to Jack Harlow’s ‘Lovin on Me.’

A mix of Korean and Western flavors, like Korean fried chicken sliders, represents the blend of Jungkook and Latto’s styles for their collaboration on ‘Seven.’

It’s All Fun and Games

A party isn’t a party without some fun and games to pass the time until the stroke of midnight! Incorporate elements from various fandoms into your party. Organize trivia games about 2023’s top artists or host a dance-off featuring the year’s best music videos. Karaoke is also always a hit at parties and can bring some great memories to start off 2024!

Songs To Bring in 2024

No pop-inspired party would be complete without a playlist featuring the year’s hottest tracks. Make sure to include a mix of upbeat dance numbers and those unforgettable ballads. Consider the songs that defined this year’s music scene, from breakout artists to comeback albums from pop icons.

Prepare for an epic roll into 2024 in sync with all those you hold dear by picking a song to play into the new year! So, as the final seconds of 2023 tick away, you should choose the perfect track to transition into the new year.

If you play:

‘thank u, next’ by Ariana Grande at exactly 11:59:15 on new year’s eve, the beat will drop and she will sing “thank u, next” when midnight hits

‘is it new years yet?’ at exactly 11:59:19 pm, Sabrina Carpenter will say “is it new years yet?” as soon you enter 2024

‘New Year’s Day’ by Taylor Swift at exactly 11:59:22 the first ‘New Year’s Day’ will play at midnight.

No matter what you choose, let the music encapsulate the moment, creating an unforgettable experience that perfectly rings in 2024! Here’s to a new year filled with more music, more moments, and memories to cherish. Happy New Year!
