Jack Harlow’s recent years have been quite the catalyst to his rising stardom: the success of ‘What’s Poppin’,’ the smash hit collaboration with Lil Nas X, ‘INDUSTRY BABY,’ and co-signs from legends in the industry such as Lil Wayne and Drake. But where did he come from and, more importantly, why should you know about him sooner rather than later? Don’t worry, we here at THP will help with the FOMO and give you 5 great reasons why you should stan the Kentucky native destined for greatness.
One of the many reasons Jack has gone viral is because of his genuine charm and charisma. From interactions with his female fans to shooting his shot with celebrities like Saweetie, Jack Harlow appreciates beauty in all shapes, sizes, and races. He’s known for matching energies and giving overall boyfriend material vibes. Acknowledging his glow-up from high school, he loves the attention he’s getting now and is not taking it for granted, making sure to make every interaction with fans memorable.
He has an air about him that radiates an easy-going, carefree demeanor that shows up in interviews. Jack believes life is a gift and he’s going to enjoy it every chance he gets by putting a smile on others’ faces. He might not pursue a career in comedy, however, his interactions and chemistry with the viral comedian Druski produce some of the funniest moments we’ve seen here at THP.
Though his popularity is gaining steam now, Jack’s been on the scene since 2015 when he released his first EP, The Handsome Harlow, at just 17. Perfecting his craft with local shows and festivals, Jack’s penmanship has only been improving, gaining recognition from legendary lyricists like Big Sean and Eminem. His grind and consistency landed him on the 2020 XXL Freshman list, an esteemed accomplishment letting the industry know he’s next in line.
He’s A Philanthropist
One thing Jack holds dear to his heart is his hometown of Lousiville, Kentucky. When the tragic death of Breonna Taylor broke news, Jack was on the front lines, involved with protests and speaking up asking for answers. In addition to his activist work, he’s donated to local charities near his hometown, such as The Center for Women and Families and The Louisville Urban League. He looked up to rappers that would not only represent their cities, but contribute to better the places they came from. He’s simply following the examples of those before him and establishing himself as a role model to the youth.
He’s JUST Getting Started
In the span of 3 years, Jack has collaborated with rap royalty, racked up some GRAMMY nominations, and won a Billboard Music Award for Top Rap Song. But he’s just getting started! He’s set to make his acting debut in the White Men Can’t Jump reboot. He’s still killing festival stages all over the world. His new album, Come Home The Kids Miss You, peaked at #3 on the Billboard 200 chart and #2 on Billboard‘s Hip Hop and R&B charts. With the continued appreciation he’s receiving from the industry, there’s no telling what’s next for this guy’s future.
