Don’t you just love discovering new favorite songs? It happens to us quite a lot in this hive, and today is no different. Friday Pilots Club has released our new favorite song with their new single, ‘Vampire Disco,’ and we can’t get enough of it!

Although you’d automatically assume the song is all about vampires at a disco, it’s not the center meaning of the track. Friday Pilots Club described ‘Vampire Disco’ as being about staying with someone who’s no longer the right person for you to grow older with. The inspiration for the title of the track came from its intensely addictive sound.
‘Vampire Disco’ started from an instrumental Drew brought into a session that he claimed sounded like a bunch of vampires at a disco. It doesn’t have much to do with the song itself anymore, but we liked this title the most. The song is actually about growing older with someone you know is no longer good for you. It’s a mutually detrimental, rocky relationship, but at this point – you feel like most things are better left unsaid. You stopped asking the questions because the answers only hurt.

And can we just talk about the flow of the vocals against the beat? The rhythm of this entire track is so enticing, and there is such a rush of adrenaline when the chorus hits. We already know this is going to be such a banger to play live for the band. We need to be in that crowd.
Friday Pilots Club made the ‘Vampire Disco’ music video seem like quite the party in that spooky woodland. It really got us thinking about if the band actually created a disco for vampires, what famous vampires would attend? Who would be the life of the party? We sat down in our hive and had a think, and a few particular vampires sprung to mind.
Viago
We’re starting off with one of the most loveable vampires out there. From the 2014 movie, What We Do In The Shadows, Viago is quite the comedic personality. Instead of being the typical dark-natured vampire full of angst and broodiness, he’s funny, delightful, and definitely a vampire we’d want to go to a disco with.
Lestat De Lioncourt
We just know that Lestat De Lioncourt from The Vampire Chronicles would turn up in a bespoke suit and add an aura of class to the party. Sounds perfect to us! However, we also know how down he would be with the music Friday Pilots Club’s ‘Vampire Disco’ would have.
Alice Cullen
Another that doesn’t have much of a spark for the stereotypical nature expected of vampires. Let’s be real. Alice Cullen from The Twilight Saga would be that best friend you need at the disco. She’d be a delight to have at any party, and her cheerful nature would be so welcomed.
Count Von Count
You heard us. From one of the most beloved children’s shows of all time, Count Von Count from Sesame Street would love Friday Pilots Club’s ‘Vampire Disco.’ And, honestly, we think he deserves a day off from teaching all those kids how to count. What a responsible vampire. Let’s give him a break and get him a glass of red!
This is just a small list of vampires that would thrive at Friday Pilots Club’s ‘Vampire Disco.’ There are likely many more that would be in attendance. After all, even the most broody of vampires would likely like to take a day off for a party like that.
