The Cake You Should Bake Based On Your Favorite Good Riddance Song

Ever since ‘Mess It Up’ we’ve all followed Gracie’s footsteps in baking, specifically cakes. From star cakes to weenie cakes, we’ve seen it all in the bakery! If you’re searching for new cakes to make for the next Gracie anniversary, look no further. We’ll leave the decorations to you, but we did assign a cake flavor to each song from Good Riddance in case your next baking adventure gets ‘Difficult.’

‘Best’ – Devil’s Food

If your favorite track is ‘Best,’ then Devil’s Food is a must-try for your next cake! Just like ‘Best,’ this cake has a fluffy texture but a rich taste. The production is simple, but the lyrics will be engrained in your brain forever.

‘I Know It Won’t Work’ – Dark Chocolate

‘I know it won’t work’ is bittersweet, just like dark chocolate, making them the perfect pair! If you love this song, you’re bound to love this flavor; it’s a match made in heaven.

‘Full Machine’ – Vanilla

Vanilla is a little more generic than some of the other flavors we’ve talked about, but just like ‘Full Machine,’ It’s simple but perfect! You can have some creative direction on decorations to give this a special flare.

‘Where do we go now?’ – Red Velvet

Red velvet is to cakes as ‘Where do we go now?’ is to Good Riddance. By that, we mean they’re both classics and absolutely iconic; we’ll love them both forever.

‘I should hate you’ – Carrot Cake

If you’re asking us, carrots sound like something that should not be in cakes, but we love carrot cake anyway. So, just like whoever Gracie is singing to, you should also hate carrot cake, but it’d be easier if we loved it “less hard.”

‘Will you cry?’ – Caramel

First, we do have to ask… are you okay? ‘Will you cry?’ is an ironic song name, considering Gracie had to know we would cry listening, but that’s a topic for another time. Caramel cake is perfect if you love ‘Will you cry?’ because it’s sweet and comforting, which is what you’ll need after listening to this track.

‘Amelie’ – Strawberry

‘Amelie’ is sweet but so heartbreaking. For this flavor choice, we’re focusing on the sweet part. Strawberry cake is the perfect amount of sweetness with a light, fluffy texture that will be sure to lighten your spirits when you finish listening to ‘Amelie.’

‘Difficult’ – Funfetti

If everything feels ‘Difficult’ to you, don’t worry because Funfetti is simple to make, and you’ll also find a box of it on the grocery aisle of pretty much every grocery store! The fun confetti will make for the perfect celebration of all things Gracie.

‘This is what the drugs are for’ – Ice Cream

If you’re spending too much time listening to this track and “still waitin’ by the phone, ice cream cake is the perfect cake to try your hand at! It may be a bit more complex, but it’ll keep your mind off things and give you the sweetness in your life that you deserve.

‘Fault line’ – Fault Line

Fault line isn’t technically a flavor, but when it works, it works! We know you probably have another favorite song from Good Riddance, so this is the perfect opportunity to mix and match.

If you’re asking us, ‘The blue’ is one of Gracie’s sweetest songs, making it the perfect match for cookie cake! It’s a little different, just like the theme of this song, and will make for the perfect treat when listening to this track.

‘Right now’ – Angel Food

Angel food because Gracie is an angel! Okay, that’s not our actual reasoning, but it’s still true. Angel food is the perfect choice for ‘Right now’ stans because this track is all about experiencing different things, and angel food cake is different both in texture and flavor to other cakes.
