There are roughly 193 days until cinemas return to the sort of pink tinge that Barbie captivated, and from our title, we aren’t talking about plastic dolls! No, we’re dealing with magic, witchy magic. The sort that’s paired with a “bippity boppity boo” as Glinda Upland, otherwise known as The Good Witch, swirls around her pink, fairy-like trident, casting magical spells on the townsfolk of OZ, lifting their spirits from a green mist. That is the other color falling onto our pallet; hence, we are bringing in Elphaba Thropp, the movie’s protagonist. Long before she became the Wicked Witch of The East, we only cared about one of those words in her title: Wicked! The musical turned into a movie, starring Ariana Grande as the former and Cynthia Erivo as the latter. Now, we’re very much picking up our broomsticks and flying around the sea of pink in sinister glee!
Since Wicked, the movie, comes out around Thanksgiving in the US, that gives us enough time to choose a color scheme to be dressed in, pink or green, unless you want to mismatch for a glorious clothing hybrid! Do you already have an idea? That’s perfect, as while you sort out your clothes, we have the food sorted. Forget the typical cinema popcorn. We’re going to be munching on pink and green dessert treats! From macaroons to scones to even jelly, we have 10 inked delectables to satisfy your other-worldly appetite and impress your friends; we’ll be listing as we break down the highly anticipated trailer!
Keto Avocado Pops
From the minute that distinctive, cackling laughter erupts as background noise, we’re transported to the Universal Pictures logo. And, of course, it’s in green! That’s one of the first Easter eggs that roll out, and how wickedly cool is it, too? What matches the color scheme, though? Keto avocado pops (although you can easily substitute it for natural sugar). The main ingredient here is the avocado. You will be thanking us if your Wicked premiere falls in warmer seasons!
Pink lemonade scones
Glinda likes to arrive in girly style, which we already know from our snapshot of her during The Wizard of Oz! However, for the prequel, she also loves boats, especially if they’re decked out in pink! This capsized boat has blush sails with swirling designs matching its bow. Obviously, too, it’s sprawling with various suitcases in all shades of pink, such as watermelon! She sits on top of one of them as her assistants, all of whom are men, steer the vehicle. It’s genuinely a female’s world here! She might as well be snacking on pink lemonade scones rather than looking out with an awestruck expression on Shiz University.
Green smoothie pancakes
One thing to know is that Elphaba likes a good scare, and we don’t mean flying monkeys crawling into the night sky upon her command scare. But in a childlike fashion, scaring her friend, Glinda! And what’s more prankster-like than seeing the ordinary, plain pancakes inked in green? These green smoothie pancakes are to die for! Heh, get it?
Watermelon, rose and lime sorbet
So maybe they don’t have to choose when pinning a colorful toothpick into the snack to distinguish whether it’s for your Glinda or Elphaba-loving friends! As it’s a blend of color schemes. Instead, your friends can saddle up between, with an arm around both witches! But for all sakes and arguments, we’re claiming it as pink since Ariana’s scream is adorable, acting rather shocked at the green tinge in the other witch’s skin. It’s their first time meeting at the university. This watermelon, rose and lime sorbet is, therefore, just as fun!
Mochi Donuts
Elphaba probably doesn’t associate herself with the word “chosen,” making it more meaningful when Michelle Yeoh’s Madame Morrible seeks her out over Glinda. Even though she’s not, uh, to be trusted! These mochi donuts are to be, though. Delightful.

Butterfly bread
It’s not a question if you’re an Arianator because we aren’t all. But rather, are you so deep into her archives that you remember her sampling Wicked’s ‘Popular’ in her collaboration with MIKA for ‘Popular Song?’ Since we know you are, we all know how psyched Ari must’ve been to flex her twinkle toe into the air ballerina-style and use a chandelier as her personal barre. So much so that we’re going to down a whole plate full of butterfly bread; they’re shaped like the beautifully decadent insects and coated in playful hundreds and thousands!
Pistachio Macarons with Pistachio Ganache Filling
If you’ve seen Wicked the musical, you’d know the love triangle of it all: Jonathan Bailey’s Fiyero’s cast between Glinda and Elphaba. We get our first glimpse of affection between the latter in the trailer as her green hand curves into his cheek, and although it appears as if he’s resisting at first, can he truly resist for that long? Especially when pistachio macarons with pistachio ganache filling are on the menu! We can’t resist those, either.
Pink champagne jellies with lychees in fragrant syrup
If there’s one character who can move her name to the top of the most envious fictional wardrobes, then it’s Glinda! We’re utterly obsessed with her flower-crested, crystal mirror, side-swept blonde curls, and gorgeously rich, watermelon frill dress. Something that would be the immediate circle around in a spot the difference game, though, is the black witch’s hat from her aunt! The one in which she uses to highlight Elphaba as the outcast. Before they come back together again, Glinda makes sure the other one knows she isn’t alone while a sea of students makes fun of her at the dance. Pink champagne jellies with lychees in fragrant syrup sounds just as best dressed as she is, no?
Mint Fortune Cookies
The thing about musical-to-movie adaptations is there are so many spoilers circling! We could probably spill some from our mouths. But we won’t? Yes, that’s a question mark because maybe we will or won’t. If you want to join the side that will, why not craft up your fortune cookies for your Wicked premiere? Some will have correct spoilers, others won’t, and you must guess. For example, does Elphaba riding a broomstick for the first time point to how wickedly evil she becomes in The Wizard of Oz? That one’s easy. It’s just as easy as making these mint fortune cookies.
Jelly swirl cheesecake slice
As mentioned earlier, Glinda likes to arrive in style, with the word in bubble letters, because do you get it? Just as in The Wizard of Oz, we get our first look in the Wicked trailer of one of her first bubble pops. It’s as pretty as our final snack: a Jelly swirl cheesecake slice!
We hope that our back-and-forth color scheme of green and pink illustrates how they can come together to spark up a pretty ombre. Therefore, does one need to choose a particular hue corner? We hope not! Some days, we’re pink like Glinda; other times, we’re thriving on our inner emerald strength like Elphaba. So come Wicked sweeping in on its broomstick to cinemas on November 27th (the first installment). We’re going to have a movie snack feast with all 10! But if we weren’t as greedy, which foody item is your favorite from the list?
