Yep, you read that correctly! It’s been the word on the ENGENE streets for a while now that we could anticipate an ENHYPEN comeback in July, but now it’s official! They’ve announced their second full album, ROMANCE: UNTOLD, and honestly? We’re terrified.
ENHYPEN has consistently leveled up in every comeback, and following on from last month’s MEMORABILIA special album, which was filled to the brim with sacrificial romance and sensuality, we don’t know if we can handle this. Seriously, how has this album title put us on edge more than the whole series they did, which was literally called BLOOD?
We don’t know about you, but that logo trailer has made us more certain than ever that we are not ready for this iteration of ENHYPEN. There’s only one thing for it, and that’s to [attempt to] build our immunity to enha in their romantic era. So we’re trying to prepare ourselves by revisiting five of ENHYPEN’s most romantic tracks!
‘Chaconne’
‘Chaconne’ is an easy ENGENE favorite, including the ENGENE here at THP! The track speaks of a complete unwillingness to stop dancing with your love, no matter the consequences, even death. It doesn’t get more romantic (and lowkey terrifying) than that, right?
‘Orange Flower (You Complete Me)’
Umm… cutie patooties alert!! Following the darkness and temptation-led themes of ENHYPEN’s music in 2023, they closed out their second mini album of the year with ‘Orange Flower (You Complete Me).’ Dedicating this track, with lyrics like “I’m yours right now, color my world,” to their fans, ENHYPEN officially melted our hearts forevermore.
‘Polaroid Love’
Yeah, yeah, ENHYPEN are super cool and charismatic vampires, blah blah blah. Actually! The enha cutie patootie agenda never ends! One of the older tracks on this list, ‘Polaroid Love,’ is another one dedicated to ENGENEs, and was revealed on stage in front of their fans way back in 2021. They were right! It is like a ‘Polaroid Love.’
‘Sacrifice (Eat Me Up)’
How could we ever settle for less than “I dedicate to you my life, devour me whole,” after hearing ‘Sacrifice (Eat Me Up)?’ Ok, so maybe the level of devotion in this track is a little toxic, and begging to be both killed and healed by your love is a little extreme, but can you blame us for being down bad for this track?
‘FEVER’
Do you ever remember how early in ENHYPEN’s career ‘FEVER’ came out? And it kind of breaks your brain? Because us too. The tumultuous push-and-pull in the lyricism is stunning, and the way ENHYPEN delivered it despite being rookies is commendable! Surely it doesn’t get more romantic than “My heart thirsts because of you,” right?
