The Color Of A Lie By Kim Johnson

First, we recommend Kim Johnson’s new thriller, The Color of a Lie! Set in 1955, a Black family passes for white and moves to a “Whites Only” part of a Pennsylvania town. Forced to live a double life, 17-year-old Calvin Greene must navigate a new school and neighborhood. He’s drawn across town where his brother Robert lives, along with Calvin’s new crush, Lily. But as Calvin learns about the town’s racist secrets, passing becomes much more dangerous than he expected.

Hearts That Cut By Kika Hatzopoulou

Our next June audiobook recommendation is Kika Hatzopoulou’s sophomore novel, Hearts That Cut! This book is the sequel and conclusion to the Threads That Bind series. Rooted in Greek mythology, Hearts That Cut follows Io Ora’s quest to find the god behind the golden thread. But her investigation leads to one with higher stakes, including the fate of the world. We loved listening to this audiobook, especially the narration of the final battle!

Six Of Sorrow By Amanda Linsmeier

Let’s round out our list of June audiobooks with Amanda Linsmeier’s sophomore novel, Six of Sorrow! Set in Sorrow, Louisiana, this supernatural thriller follows a group of six girls: Isabeau, Reuel, Georgia, August, Cori, and Sloane. They all share the same birthday and have been best friends (until their thirteenth birthday, at least). On their sixteenth birthday, Reuel disappears and returns as a haunted shell of herself. This brings the six girls back together to try to uncover who or what is coming after all of them.
