Can you believe that ROMANCE: UNTOLD is almost here? It feels like we’ve waited a [immortal] lifetime for this comeback, even though MEMORABILIA wasn’t even two months ago. Maybe it’s because ROMANCE: UNTOLD is only ENHYPEN’s second full album, and it’s been almost three years since DIMENSION: DILEMMA dropped. Either way, we’re so excited about this release, and now ENHYPEN has shared the album preview to get us even more hyped!
The album preview sees each ENHYPEN member take to the turntables in an early-00s house party. This aesthetic, along with the grunge, house, rock, and drum & bass influences we’re already getting in the songs (more on that later) has got us so excited, and feels totally on brand for the group. Seeing as ENHYPEN are often (affectionately) joked about as being the frat boys of K-Pop, seeing them lean into this with a house party concept is extra charming. We’re so locked into this comeback.
‘Moonstruck’
Will we ever complain about a Slow Rabbit co-write? Absolutely not. And it looks like there are plenty on ROMANCE: UNTOLD! The album will open with ‘Moonstruck,’ an alt-r&b track that already has the pulsing beats we’ve come to know and love from ENHYPEN. They’re giving us vampire energy from the get-go!
‘XO (Only If You Say Yes)’
Next up is the title track, and we’re literally terrified if the music video teaser is anything to go by. ‘XO (Only If You Say Yes)’ popped up in the concept trailer, where we were also introduced to Chloe – the human ‘you’ that supports the vampire ENHYPEN. Basically, the MV teaser is giving perfect pop boyfriend vibes, and ENGENEs should be just as nervous as we are.
‘XO (Only If You Say Yes)’ was produced by JVKE, who has previously worked with the likes of Jimin, NCT Dream, and YUQI, and there will be a remix collaboration with him, too. If all of that isn’t enough to up the anticipation, then we’ve got a preview of the choreography and TikTok challenge too…
‘Your Eyes Only’
“Sugar talk?” Umm… sounds like someone’s had too much ‘Sweet Venom.’ This one is one of the softer moments in ENHYPEN’s album preview; ‘Your Eyes Only’ feels like it’s gonna be super laidback, but maybe that’s just the Jake effect.
‘Hundred Broken Hearts’
Sorry about it, but we’re claiming this track as ours. ‘Hundred Broken Hearts,’ which was co-written by leader Jungwon is another alt R&B moment, but this edition is so 80s it hurts. The vocal effects are so much fun, and ENHYPEN is lowkey giving us 80s sci-fi movie vibes.
‘Brought The Heat Back’
Ok, just like ‘Hundred Broken Hearts,’ ‘Brought The Heat Back’ already feels like it belongs on a movie soundtrack, but this time it’s a rebellious coming-of-age tale. The confidence in this song is already sending us into the stratosphere, and we haven’t even heard the full track yet. ENHYPEN worked with the producer who did mega-hit ‘Bite Me,’ as well as Jungkook’s ‘Seven’ and ‘Standing Next To You,’ and a bunch of Billboard Hot 100 number ones. So it’s safe to say that this track is in good hands!

‘Paranormal’
Remember how everyone massively underrated ‘Future Perfect (Pass The Mic)’ and now it’s literally everyone’s favorite? Well, we reckon we just got a part two of that sound. ‘Paranormal’ mixes rock with drum & bass, and we’re already obsessed with this production; it reminds us of old-school video games. With any rock-influenced ENHYPEN song, you know that a Heeseung chorus is gonna hit, and we already get a snippet of it in the album preview!
‘Paranormal’ was co-written by Ryan Lawrie, who has a stacked list of K-Pop credits, including ‘Shadow’ by SEVENTEEN, ‘Crush’ by ZEROBASEONE and ‘Mikrokosmos’ by BTS. On top of that, he also wrote on ENHYPEN’s own ‘Sacrifice (Eat Me Up)’ and ‘Flicker,’ so you know this one is sure to become a fan favorite too.
‘Royalty’
Just from the ROMANCE: UNTOLD preview, we can already tell that this funky pop number is going to be so much fun, and that’s before you even get to how charming lyrics like “Whatever you want, my answer is always ‘yes sir'” are. Plus, any time ENHYPEN says the word “Precious,” we’re always going to jump in our minds to their Teen Vogue Compliment Battle. Sunghoon’s brain is precious, and he should say it!

‘Highway 1009’ And ‘Highway 1009 (Narr. Ver)’
Is ENHYPEN really going to take us on this journey of fun, rebellious house party energy, only to hit us in the feels right at the end? It seems like it! ‘Highway 1009’ was produced by eldest member Heeseung and written by all seven members, and to make matters worse (by which we mean better), it’s a fan song. In case you didn’t spot it, the ‘1009’ in the song’s title references ENGENE’s birthday, October 9th. From the preview alone, we already know it’s going to melt our hearts, and what a way for ENHYPEN to choose to close their second full-length album.
So, which song are you pre-claiming from ROMANCE: UNTOLD as yours? Did ENHYPEN’s album preview get you as excited for July 12th as it did us? We wanna hear from you over on Twitter @TheHoneyPOP! And you can find us on Instagram and Facebook!
