Even in August, we are dreaming of spooky time. Here in the hive, October might just be our favorite month – carving pumpkins, festive sweet treats, dressing up as our favorite TV show characters, and streaming China Ann McClain’s ‘Calling All The Monsters.’ You know the vibes! But what’s even better than all those things combined? Halloween Horror Nights.
In the past, Halloween Horror Nights has had some super spooky themes, like recreating the set from Jordan Peele’s Nope or having Michael Myers himself come to life, chasing you around Universal Studios with a chainsaw. That’s all fun and games, but what we’d really love to see are Horror Nights haunted house themes based on our favorite spooky albums.
The Weeknd’s Dawn FM
This year, our wishes are coming true (again)! If you remember, last year, Halloween Horror Nights had an exclusive haunted house with an iconic theme based on The Weeknd’s musical universe. It was so beloved that it’s coming back again this year, and it’s appropriately called “The Weeknd: Nightmare Trilogy.” Just as we suspected, the haunted house will be based on the singer’s widely popular albums Dawn FM and After Hours. There’s gonna be live performances and dozens of chances to experience that movie-like jump scare only found at Universal Studios during the fall.
Want a sneak peek at the horror that awaits? Check out the official teaser video below.
The Weeknd’s haunted house opens on September 5, so get your tickets and grab your besties for a scary time!

Billie Eilish’s When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go?
We feel like this is an obvious request, and we can’t believe Universal hasn’t made this happen yet. The nature of Billie’s first studio album revolves around the life of monsters who live under your bed and what happens when we fall asleep. Do we meet our greatest desires, or is it something more terrifying?
As horror nightgoers walk around the themed house (which would, of course, be set in a bedroom), ‘bury a friend’ can be heard playing over the speakers, spiders can be seen crawling out of the walls, and large creatures with giant black wings can be flying in and out (as an ode to ‘you should see me in a crown’ and ‘all the good girls go to hell’). The possibilities here are really endless, and we know if this idea were to ever come to reality, Billie herself would be honored! Every Billie fan knows she loves Horror Nights and goes with her best friends every year. So why not dedicate an entire haunted house to her?

Michael Jackson’s Thriller
One of the greatest albums of all time deserves its own spot on the Horror Nights lineup. Not to mention, this Michael Jackson album is entirely horror and thriller-themed! Naturally, we would want the zombie creatures from the Thriller music video to come to life and chase us around the park until we cry with fear. Then maybe they’d break out into a flash mob of the iconic choreography, and we’d have to join them!
Even the ‘Billie Jean’ music video can have its own moment at the park – we imagine a murder mystery game that involves park-goers. In order to find the culprit, you have to walk through the haunted house, of course.

Miley Cyrus’s Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz
For our last haunted house theme request, we choose Miley Cyrus. This may be a stretch, but Miley herself would be down with this idea. Creepy pets and animals are themes that we would love to see Universal take on. Even if the album doesn’t get its own dedicated haunted house, it would still be cool to have Miley’s creepy pets haunting the streets of the park with songs like ‘I Get So Scared’ and ‘Twinkle Song’ blasting in the background. Maybe instead of giant bursts of real fire, it can just rain glitter? That definitely would be less scary…
