Xdinary Heroes Go Extra-Hard With ‘iNSTEAD!’

Through the years, Xdinary Heroes have always explored different genres while staying true to their unique sound. We’ve seen them go from soft ballads to some of the most hard-hitting rock songs. With their ambition to explore different sides of rock and their various influences, it only seemed like a matter of time before Xdinary Heroes dipped their toes in the metal, post-hardcore waters. And we’re incredibly pleased to announce that with the release of ‘iNSTEAD!,’ the day is finally here!

Xdinary Heroes have been dropping several digital singles for the past few months, a series that has explored every side of their sound and artistry better than ever. ‘Boy Comics’ was fun and lighthearted, while ‘LOVE and FEAR’ was full of angst, and ‘Save me’ was pop-rock perfection, with all of them showing flawless and beautiful lyrics. ‘iNSTEAD!’ is a whole new vibe for Xdinary Heroes. Yet, it feels so natural for them. It is also their first-ever collaboration as they joined forces with YB’s Yoon Do Hyun for this song.

‘iNSTEAD!’ is bold, dark, and full of resentment and feelings of revenge. The song goes extremely hard with the instrumentation, showcasing more than ever what good musicians they are. But that’s not the only aspect of the song that makes it so addicting. The melodies and vocals are infectious and unforgettable. The perfect mixture of hard-rock instrumentation, impactful melodies, and irreplaceable energy from Xdinary Heroes goes flawlessly with the moments of screamo given by YB’s Yoon Do Hyun. This is Xdinary Heroes like we’ve never seen them before, yet how they were always meant to be. For a first collaboration, they raised the bar so incredibly high!

Post-hardcore is not only unprecedented in Xdinary Heroes‘ discography but in K-Pop in general. And they didn’t embody this style only in their sound, but also in the aesthetic and styling. It is impossible to look away from the music video with the flawless makeup, the incredible clothes, and the incorporation of different animated elements. ‘iNSTEAD!’ feels like the epitome of Xdinary Heroes‘ art and the perfect step to take with these digital singles they’ve been giving us leading up to a bigger release. Because yes, the snippet ‘XH_stone_75,’ might be the last piece of the puzzle before the full thing is revealed, and we can’t wait for October to come.
