Since December 2021, we’ve seen Xdinary Heroes grow into one of the best K-bands in the scene. Their unique style and mind-blowing music has truly captured us, and they keep getting better. The release of their first full-length album, Troubleshooting, is the culmination of all the growth and incredible music Xdinary Heroes has been working hard to give to the world. And we’re here to tell you all about this masterpiece!
Troubleshooting – track by track
‘No Matter’
Xdinary Heroes truly know how to open an album, and they put their everything into ‘No Matter.’ This track is incredibly impactful with its hard rock influence and just how bold it is, both in its vocals and instrumentals. It’s addictive and sets the tone for the entire release. That’s how powerful the track is. And don’t even get us started on the guitar in the outro…
‘Little Things’
This time around, the title track is ‘Little Things,’ a song quite different from their previous title tracks. Starting off with a distant voice singing the chorus melody, we knew ‘Little Things’ would be special. And indeed, the song is pop-punk perfection with its message of getting up no matter how the world brings you down. It’s full of hope and support, and an incredible song to listen to.
‘UNDEFINED’
Two words: bass line. That’s it.
No, but in all seriousness, the instrumentals in ‘UNDEFINED’ go off the chart. It is an incredible experience to listen to this track. ‘UNDEFINED’ is all about making your own path and being confident in your uniqueness. And well, yeah, Xdinary Heroes are certainly setting their unique mark in the industry.
‘Paint It’
If you’re still not over how incredible and life-changing the Overload mini-album was, ‘Paint It’ is the b-side for you. The cheekiness and the musical theatre type of vocals make this song so unique to Xdinary Heroes. There is no other k-band doing this like them. And the instrumental, especially the bridge, makes the song even more special.
‘Money On My Mind’
While most of the songs before this one were on the hard rock side of the spectrum, ‘Money On My Mind’ is more reminiscent of classic rock and rock & roll. It’s a fun, addictive tune that is impossible to listen to without wanting to jump around to it. And the guitar solo in the bridge is really something else – everyone deserves to listen to it at least once.
‘Dreaming Girl’
We got classic rock, hard rock, pop-punk, and, of course, we also got pop-rock perfection. ‘Dreaming Girl’ has beautiful melodies that carry a message of support and hope for everyone. It’s one of those songs that lets you know everything will be okay eventually. It’s emotional and hopeful yet full of energy and simply beautiful.
‘until the end of time’
In between all this energy, ‘until the end of time’ is the pop-rock ballad of Troubleshooting. Even though it starts with only a piano, the way this song builds up is captivating and makes it hit even more. ‘until the end of time’ allows them to showcase their vocals in a very different way than the rest of the songs. And they absolutely break our hearts as they sing about the inevitable end of a relationship they thought would last forever, being left feeling betrayed.
‘Walking To The Moon’
‘Walking to the Moon’ is the perfect track to bring back the energy and happiness. This track falls in the classic rock-influenced side of Xdinary Heroes‘ discography. On top of that, it’s a bright, uplifting, carefree song that gives an optimistic outlook on life. It’s all about getting lost and forgetting about the rest of the world – who doesn’t need that from time to time?
‘MONEYBALL’
‘MONEYBALL’ is by far the darkest track in Troubleshooting. It’s aggressive, bold, and takes twists and turns, making it such a surprising and unique listening experience. It is also an incredibly witty song as they use their music to recreate a sports game. It is a genius track.
‘Night of Fireworks’
Even masterpieces have to come to an end, and we can’t think of a song better than ‘Night of Fireworks’ to wrap it up. This song shows an optimistic outlook on the end of a relationship, where you’re left remembering what made you happy. It’s all about remembering the good moments and feeling grateful. ‘Night of Fireworks’ has this almost anthem-like feel that is energetic and uplifting, with a hint of bittersweetness. But we can always replay the entire album from the start, right?
