The book sequels have been killer this year! First, Royal Scandal by Aimée Carter, then Reckless by Lauren Roberts. Now, we have Heist Royale by Kayvion Lewis!
Heist Royale is the sequel to Kayvion Lewis’ novel, Thieves’ Gambit, which we loved so much we had to read it and listen to its audiobook. Heist Royale picks up six months after the end of book one, following Ross Quest in a dangerous new gambit, with her life and the entire Quest family on the line.
We’re beyond excited for this sequel, and we can’t wait for you all to read it, too. Here are three things we love about Kayvion Lewis’ Heist Royale!

Book Overview: Heist Royale
Content Warnings: violence, kidnapping, weapons, mention of parent death
Summary: It’s been six months since the end of the Gambit. Instead of winning an impossible wish, Ross has the threat of her family’s execution hanging over her head. Devroe, the only person Ross thought she could trust, could wish the Quests into oblivion at any time. Shockingly, despite his betrayal, Devroe is still making a play for Ross’s heart as the two work together pulling jobs for the Organization. But Ross has learned her lesson: A Quest can only trust another Quest.
When Ross finds herself at the center of a power struggle within the Organization, she sees her chance to change her fortunes. As a new deadly Gambit develops for control of the criminal underworld, Ross strikes a risky deal to guarantee protection for herself and her family.
In this final clash, Ross will square off against a ruthless opponent who will stop at nothing to seize power, and in their corner will be not only Devroe but his mother, who wants to destroy the Quests at any cost.
The new Gambit takes Ross and her crew into the intoxicating casinos of Monte Carlo and across treacherous snow-covered slopes in Antarctica as Ross competes against Devroe in a fight for her life. Loyalties will be tested, backs stabbed, hearts broken. May the best thief win.
The Return Of A Few Friends
Before Thieves’ Gambit, Ross didn’t make friends. She doesn’t trust anyone, not even her own mother. But in Heist Royale, she enlists the help of her friends to successfully carry out the heists. We get to see her friendship with Noelia and Mylo develop further on the Count’s team, along with a romance between Mylo and another familiar face. Although Devroe and Kyung-soon joined the Baron’s team in the Gambit, they still looked out for Ross. (They literally saved her life multiple times.) We absolutely loved this cast of characters and would trust them with our lives!
Ross And Devroe’s Romantic Tension
If Devroe’s shameless flirting didn’t win you over in Thieves’ Gambit, then it will in Heist Royale. Guaranteed. Not only did he save Ross’s life in the heist in Antarctica, but he also saved her cover from being blown in Monte Carlo. If that doesn’t prove how much he cares about Ross, we don’t know what does. Ross has been betrayed by Devroe before and refuses to fall for his act again. But that won’t stop Devroe from pursuing her trust and her heart. The romantic tension between these two had us on the edge of our seats as much as the high-stakes heists did!
The Casino Heist
Speaking of heists, we couldn’t not talk about the Monte Carlo casinos in Heist Royale. Casinos are Mylo’s playground, but the Count’s team would need more tactics than card counting to pull off this heist. We love how Ross recruits Taiyo to help devise a foolproof plan despite their rocky ending in the last book. It was a thrill keeping up with each character’s progress in accumulating chips to trade for information and secrets. Not to mention the casino owner’s heir, who’s determined to catch Ross for cheating. We couldn’t predict the outcome of the heist, which was the best part for us!
Kayvion Lewis’ action-packed sequel, Heist Royale, will hook you with its high-stakes heists and keep you invested with its incredible pacing, character reunions, and of course, romantic tension!
Heist Royale by Kayvion Lewis releases November 12th, and you can order a copy of it here!
