With the weekend coming to an end, The Maine and friends gave us an unforgettable day of music, fun, and laughter. Curious to see who we saw on day two of 8123 Fest? Stick around to read our thoughts and see our photos of each set!
Practically People
A fellow Arizona-based band, Practically People were ready to rock day 2 of 8123 Fest! Wills, Jane, Dmitri, and Josh were the kick-off band for the Saturday portion of the festival. The indie rock band released their debut album, Origins, in April of 2024! With that release, the band pumped up the crowd with songs such as ‘Walkie Talkie’ and ‘Crumbs.’ If you’re looking for a new band to jam out to in 2025, this is the one for you!

CLIFFDIVER
As if we hadn’t already started sweating thanks to Practically People’s set, we were graced with CLIFFDIVER’s presence and their high-energy vibes. WOMEN IN POP PUNK! That’s it, that’s the tweet. But in all seriousness, CLIFFDIVER are a band from Oklahoma that were featured on the Sad Summer Festival in 2023 and released their newest album, Birdwatching, in September. We cannot wait to see what 2025 holds for this incredible band!

HELLOGOODBYE
Hellogoodbye brought the fun, beach, and ukelele vibes to day two of 8123 Fest. Their dreamy synthpop music was just what we needed between (what was about to be) a heavy lineup. With their hit singles, ‘Here (In Your Arms)’ and ‘When We First Met,’ we sang and danced for the entire 45-minute set. This was just practice for the band as they prepare to embark on a national tour with Armor for Sleep starting in March.

Charlotte Sands
One of our favorite women in pop punk! Charlotte Sands gave us the show of a lifetime for the second time that weekend. She’d been assigned the task of kicking off the weekend with her solo show Thursday night, and returned to us on Saturday to rock our socks off! ‘Bad Day’ and ‘Spite’ always go so hard at a Charlotte Sands show. Not to mention, she sang her heavier version of ‘Dress’ and literally blew us away. Beautiful, talented, and funny?! One can never pass up the opportunity to see Charlotte live!

Real Friends
Fresh off their national tour in celebration of their newest record, Blue Hour, Real Friends brought the pop-punk to 8123 Fest. ‘Me First,’ ‘Six Feet,’ and ‘When You Were Here’ were all on their lineup to get us up and screaming lyrics while aggressively finger-pointing at Cody. There were crowd surfers going up and mosh pits happening everywhere around us. Even when the band decided to “slow it down” and play one of their most recent gut-wrenching songs, ‘Waiting Room,’ there was not a somber person in sight. Real Friends is one of those bands that you will go out of your way to see, even if you’ve never heard of them before. They are truly the life of the party and the band that everyone wants to befriend.

The Starting Line
This band from Pennsylvania was one that we were also very much looking forward to seeing at 8123 Fest! (Yes, this is the band that Taylor Swift mentions in ‘The Black Dog’.) This band has been around since 1999 and have toured with bands such as Midtown, Fall Out Boy, Boys Like Girls, and Third Eye Blind to name a few. If you’re a fan of truly organic and era-defining pop-punk, then TSL is for you! We got to enjoy listening to ‘Luck,’ ‘Hello Houston,’ and ‘The Best of Me’ live for the first time ever and it brought us a sense of joy like no other.

The Maine
And last, but certainly not least, we arrived to The Maine‘s last set of the weekend. The complete run-through of some of their best and favorite songs from their entire career. As if listening to American Candy and The Maine wasn’t enough to get us crying and singing and dancing and screaming, this band just had to go and give the people what they wanted! First and foremost, thank you to whoever agreed to put ‘Taxi’ on the setlist. Secondly, hearing songs off of Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop in 2025 was the perfect way to end the weekend. That’s not even counting when Charlotte Sands joined the band onstage to sing ‘Loved You a Little.’

From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank The Maine for putting on yet another amazing weekend full of fun, laughter, tears, and music for us to all come together to enjoy. Music is one of those things that brings people together for the duration of the show, and sometimes for the duration of their lives.
