After teasing us for literally three weeks, TXT have finally given in and confirmed that they’re having a comeback on May 2nd! We’re now a little bit closer to forgiving them for those April Fools pranks on Instagram…
Here’s What We Know So Far
TXT will release a digital single, ‘Love Language,’ on May 2nd at 12 am ET, 5 am BST, 1 pm KST. Huening Kai contributed to the lyrics, and it’s going to have afro-house vibes like ‘No Rules,’ ‘I’ll See You There Tomorrow,’ and ‘Our Summer.’ So it’s already a confirmed hit!
Of course, it wouldn’t be a TXT comeback without plenty of spoilers! It began with TXT ending their set at AXE Ceremonia with a preview of Yeonjun singing “What’s your love language?” and things just spiraled from there.
We’ve had Yeonjun saying things like, “It has a choreo. That’s. A. Huge. Spoiler.” Which, y’know, is not exactly ground-breaking stuff. But then we’ve had Soobin revealing it was a digital single before the announcement, Kai and Soobin saying it’s the most exhausting choreography yet, Beomgyu saying it has a refreshing vibe, and Taehyun just straight up sending us voice notes of him singing the song acapella. Never change, Tubatu.
We couldn’t be more excited for ‘Love Language!’ For real, we dare you to find another publication that is more MOA-coded than us. With ‘Love Language’ on our minds, we got to thinking, what are some of our fave TXT love songs so far?
‘0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You)’
Could we have started with anything else? The clue is in the name! Not only is ‘0X1’ the best of TXT’s love songs, but it’s arguably their biggest hit, too. The emotional vocal delivery from Taehyun still hits like a gut punch every time we hear it, even four years later.
‘I’ll See You There Tomorrow’
We had to pick one of the songs that ‘Love Language’ will have a similar vibe to! With ‘I’ll See You There Tomorrow’ sounding so bright and upbeat, it might not seem like a particularly romantic song at first listen. But with lyrics like, “Someone like you, the only one in the world, you and I tamed each other,” it’s definitely one of TXT’s strongest love songs!
‘Forty One Winks’
‘Forty One Winks’ wins our (totally unofficial and not real) awards for both the most romantic TXT love song, and greatest metaphor in a song ever, of all time (again, totally not a real award). Describing love as the forty-first wink, the moment you wake up from sleep is so beautiful.
‘Deja Vu’
Spotlighting this track as one of TXT’s best love songs is basically another opportunity for us to draw your attention to that time Yeonjun mouthed “MOA” before singing the lyric “I promise you, over and over, my future is you.” Has there ever been a more romantic serenade than that?
