Here Is Why TXT’s Taehyun Is One Of The Best All-Rounders In 4th Gen K-Pop

All-Rounder: a term used to describe K-Pop idols who excel at every aspect of their work, from vocals to dance to a variety of content. AKA, a great way to describe the members of TOMORROW X TOGETHER.

In fact, we would say that they’re one of the few groups where every member is an all-rounder, which is no small feat. Today, however, we’re casting the spotlight on TXT’s second-youngest Taehyun! He might be best known for his powerful vocals and his ‘divorce era’ during the FREEZE chapter, but he’s so much more than that, too. So, as the MOA hive, we’re here to show you why TXT’s Taehyun is one of the best all-rounders in all of 4th Gen!

Vocals

‘0x1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You)’ On The Chaos Chapter: FREEZE Comeback Show

We’ve already alluded to his strength in this category, so it seems to be the natural place to start. Taehyun is one of our favorite vocalists in the industry; he has a great balance of having his own distinctive tone, while still being able to adapt to TXT’s genre-spanning catalog. He also performs with such passion that it made people jokingly accuse him of going through a divorce at 19 years old, which is pretty impressive.

Dance

‘Angel Or Devil’ On TXT’s Welcome Back Show

You can’t deny that Taehyun has a compelling stage presence when he sings, and the same is true of his dancing. We’d love to see his strength and enthusiasm get even more recognition, but this fancam from their rookie year that has over a million views is a good start. “Idols hate their jobs.” Not him! Never him!

Industry Respect

Wonder Stage At The 2023 MAMA Awards

This MAMA Awards collaboration only happened two months ago, and this is the third time we’re talking about it on THP. That’s how good it is. Performing with Japanese music legend Yoshiki, five male idols were selected to showcase their unique talents and style. TXT’s two youngest, Taehyun and Huening Kai, sang the first ballad Yoshiki ever wrote, ‘Endless Rain,’ and their selection for this collaboration proves how highly respected their talents are, even at one of the biggest award shows in the industry. It might be a couple of months since the performance, but we’re still breathless.

Professionalism

‘Sugar Rush Ride’ On Music Bank 230127

We don’t know about you guys, but we’ll admit it doesn’t take much to fluster us. And if we were in the middle of singing and our in-ear wire got snapped by someone else’s boot? Yeah, we’d be more than a little panicked. Not Taehyun, though! After Beomgyu accidentally stepped through the wires, Taehyun didn’t even flinch, continuing to give us those forceful vocals.

‘Ghosting’ On Cool FM’s Day6 Kiss The Radio

Sorry, but we will literally never, ever, ever miss an opportunity to talk about ‘Ghosting.’ But we’re right to do so! Taehyun’s professionalism is proven here by the fact that he did half of the ‘Blue Hour’ promotions with his hand in a cast. What’s more, Soobin wasn’t feeling well on this day, so at the last minute, Taehyun decided to cover some of his trickier parts in ‘Ghosting,’ even going as far as to write the lyrics on the cast as he hadn’t had a chance to memorize them.

Variety Content

Taehyun’s Reincarnation Academy Episode 1

Taehyun is one of the funniest idols in K-Pop; in this essay, we will…

Ok, so we won’t today, but maybe we’ll have to talk about that in the future. From the iconic “What are you most afraid of?” “Death.” joke, to him basically being the only one able to use his brain in TXT’s variety show TO DO, Taehyun is an underrated variety content King. He’s so quick on the uptake, and his deadpan delivery has us in stitches! Most recently, he’s had his own variety show, Taehyun’s Reincarnation Academy, which sees him undertake new challenges, like acting or salsa dancing. We have absolutely loved seeing Taehyun’s personality and wit shine here.

Rap

‘Boy In Luv’ (Originally By BTS) At 2019 Gayo Daejeon

We might not have had many chances to see Taehyun’s rap (yet), but that doesn’t mean we’re not aware of his skills. TXT trained heavily in hip-hop, and this cover of BTS’ ‘Boy In Luv’ from TXT’s rookie year shows just how much talent lies dormant. tubatu hip-hop era, when?

Songwriting

‘Tinnitus’ At Lollapalooza 2023

Like the rest of TXT, Taehyun is very involved in the creation of their music. He has writing credits on 18 of their songs (as of February 2024), and his contributions grow with every comeback. These tracks include some of TXT’s most iconic, like ‘Tinnitus,’ ‘Opening Sequence,’ and ‘No Rules.’ In 2023, with the release of ‘Ring,’ Taehyun became the first member to have composed a Japanese track.

Visual

Listen, we don’t need to stand here and tell you about Taehyun’s visuals. Just look for yourself, and you’ll agree he’s an all-rounder. (Literally. He’s boba-shaped).

Work Ethic

Suchwita Episode 8

And the last reason why Taehyun is a 4th Gen all-rounder? His commitment to his craft! Yeonjun revealed on Suchwita that Taehyun is the person who taught him that hard work is a talent in itself, and we’re sure that a lot of MOA would say the same. Taehyun has always been relentless in his efforts to better himself, and it only makes MOA’s pride skyrocket. Plus, any excuse to rewatch Taehyun and Yeonjun’s episode of Suchwita is an excuse we’re gonna use.
