The track is infectious both lyrically and rhythmically, and you’re left with no choice but to put it on repeat. ‘Leave Me Alone’ is only the start of the RR2 era, too. Which is music to our ears because we’ll own it, we’re kind of selfish when it comes to Reneé! Bite us!
The music video starts with Reneé being her authentic self in a bar despite the judgmental stares of her peers. And in her drunken haze, we switch to her surrounded by dopplegängers. And naturally, this turns into a full-blown brawl. Now, one of our favorite things about Reneé is how she truly does everything for the gays, specifically the lesbians. This music video is a work of LGBTQIA+ perfection. Mother, thank you.
She’s A Real Bad Girl, But A Real Good Kisser
The RR2 era has a name now, and it’s the Bite Me era! The album releases everywhere on August 1st, and we don’t know who made Reneé mad, but thank you so much for inspiring what we know is about to be her most bad*ss era yet. This era is all about Reneé reclaiming her narrative. You hear the message clear as day in ‘Leave Me Alone,’ but Reneé Rapp is telling listeners to embrace who they are through and through, and to live in the beauty and strength that brings.
Not only that, but the entire sound of ‘Leave Me Alone’ is reminding us of early 2000s music that we blast to this day when we need to boost our egos. It’s giving P!NK, Britney Spears, and even early Gaga. Oh, did we mention that Reneé is also set to make her live show performance debut at the American Music Awards on May 26th? You already know we are going to be fully tuned in to see what Mother is serving up. And yeah, maybe we are manifesting a live TV pillow fight! We’re only human!!
