In just one year, Yves debuted as a solo artist, gave us two of the most interesting releases of the year, and kicked off her first solo tour, which continued into 2025. Last year was busy for Yves, but the hard work was worth it because her impact was felt. Now, with all the experience and touring as a solo artist, we knew she would come back with something even more incredible, something original and unique that would blow us away. And yet, Yves giving us the collab of our dreams was not in our bingo card, but here we are!
‘Soap’ feat. PinkPantheress
The collaboration between Yves and PinkPantheress has been a long time coming. We’ve been waiting, praying, and hoping for a collab between the two for a long time. While Yves has always talked about PinkPantheress as one of the main inspirations for her music and praised her, PinkPantheress has also been outspoken about her love for Yves. And the manifesting is over because here is their collaboration: ‘Soap.’
The perfect blend of their sound comes together in ‘Soap,’ where their voices fit each other just perfectly. The song is about freeing yourself from someone who brings you bad energy, and the happiness we get from this song translates the feeling beautifully. ‘Soap’ is catchy, addictive, and the best thing about Yves’ music with the best of PinkPantheress’ sound. And as if it couldn’t get better, ‘Soap’ also samples Rebecca Black’s ‘Sugar Water Cyanide,’ and it’s a beyond-genius move for the production and to complete such a dream come true. This is the song to be looping right now.
Soft Error
But the genius of this release doesn’t stop there: a few seconds into ‘White Cat’ and we totally get why it was a pre-release song. Not only does the song mix Yves’ signature sound with something more pop, but it’s extremely catchy and energetic. On top of that, it highlights all the elements of Yves’ voice that make it so special in the best way.
‘Soap’ is not the only collaboration in Yves‘ Soft Error. The third track, ‘Aibo,’ has to be one of our favorite songs in the release and Yves’ discography. The pop-rock sound perfectly fits the theme of freedom in Soft Error and brings the energy to an all-time high. Bratty’s addition in the form of an all-Spanish verse elevates the song from good to simply unforgettable.
While the first half of Soft Error is full of energy, Yves brings it back to her unique and more experimental atmosphere with the latter part, showcasing her willingness to explore and always give us the most distinctive music. ‘Do you feel it like i touch’ is a softer and luring song. It’s quiet and mysterious, and shows a new side to Yves‘ sound. It leads perfectly into the masterful production we get in ‘Study.’ To close off Soft Error, ‘mom’ is a softer song that feels almost like a lullaby. Her vocals are soft yet carry so many emotions and sensibility, showcasing her connection to music and art.

With Soft Error, not only is Yves pushing her sound further, expanding her unique sound and vision, but she’s also giving us all we’ve ever wanted. Soft Error is a masterclass in growth, musical exploration, and production genius – everything we expect from Yves.
