If you know anything about Busted or McFly, you’ll know it’s been an ongoing joke for roughly 20 years. Both bands were up and coming at around the same time and given their type of music and demographic, they have always been up against each other. Busted VS McFly was an opportunity waiting to happen – and we couldn’t have been more excited!
To see the bands lean into that over the years, and join together on a tour like this where they “fight to the death” to see who the fans prefer. We must admit, it’s a hilarious way to get each fanbase involved.
After they joined forces years ago as ‘McBusted,’ it was inevitable that McFly and Busted would continue to put their heads together and create something as iconic as a co-headline tour that catered to all their fans. But this is not like any other co-headline tour, this covered all ages, all genders, no matter what era you started listening to each of them. They managed to curate a setlist that captured each band’s journey, whilst playing their own biggest hits, deep cuts, and poking fun at one another.

McFly kicked off the show with ‘Where Did All The Guitars Go?.’ Then hits like ‘Star Girl,’ ‘I’ll Be OK,’ and ‘Red’ filled their half of the show. It’s really quite difficult to summarise this show with hits – especially when we consider every single song a massive hit.
Flowing seamlessly into Busted’s set, ‘Crashed The Wedding’ kicked off the second half of the show. ‘Air Hostess,’ ‘You Said No,’ and ‘What I Go To School For’ kept the energy high and the audience pumped!
The show was split pretty evenly between McFly and Busted, each singing a whole set each. It then evolved into that back-and-forth feud we craved from the moment it was announced!

Harry and Eddy fought one-on-one in an intense drum battle. Followed by Matt and Dougie from the audience, on either side of the arena, singing ‘Hate Your Guts’ (a McBusted song), at each other. Whilst also, in typical “boys will be boys” fashion, creating degrading chants and poking fun at each other.
Danny and Charlie then joined forces to strip it back to sing ‘3am’ and ‘Not Alone,’ and their voices melted into each other like butter. The room was filled with these raspy rocky vocals that they both have, but in such a ballad-y, acoustic way.
For a while, it really was Busted VS McFly, no matter which team you’re on, the tension was heavy, the energy was high, and the vibes were immaculate.

Busted and McFly closed the show by singing a final song each before all coming together on stage to just absolutely rock out to ‘Shine A Light’ and ‘Year 3000’.
It’s certainly not the type of show you can show up late for or leave early. You will definitely miss something exciting! Everything from the visuals of each set, to the jokes made, and the beautiful tribute to James Bourne. It was practically perfect, they took your average co-headline tour and elevated it in so many ways.
