She Was ‘Made For’ IVE & Online Idol Life!
When you hear K-Pop fans talk about a Barbie Line, they’re usually talking about idols with doll-like visuals, bubbly personalities, and a gorgeous fashion sense. Rei has all of those, but she gave “Barbie Line” a new meaning when she filmed a cover of Billie Eilish’s ‘What Was I Made For?’ from the Barbie movie… more specifically, the meme version where a cat is meowing the song’s melody. When she sang “Meow, meow, meow, meow,” we felt that!
“Either Way, I’m G-” O-I-I-A
One more cat-related Rei TikTok for good measure! A senior cat named Ethel became an internet superstar when people started making videos of her spinning around and saying O-I-I-A. Several K-Pop fandoms took advantage of it to remix their fave songs with the meme sound, but Rei took it to another level by imitating the O-I-I-A noise. And she was serious, even using her hand to keep the right tempo! You know who to cast in the Ethel biopic one day.
Italian B-Rei-nrot
Rei put her meme knowledge to the test with a filter game that challenged her to name different Italian brainrot characters that took over the internet! She successfully named Tung Sahur, Bombardino Crocodilo, Chimpanzini Bananini, Lirili Larila, and Tralalero Tralala with a cute little chuckle at the end when she realized she didn’t miss a single one. A Girl Who Can Do Both
One of our favorite things about Rei is how well she adapt to both soft and edgy concepts in IVE! So when we saw that she did a TikTok to YB’s ‘I Guess I Loved You,’ we expected her to lean into her more dreamy side. Seeing her do the ‘Gangnam Style’ dance instead wasn’t even an option that we had in mind, but somehow she made it work!
Keeping It Real
Rei’s most-liked TikTok to date tackles a challenge where creators jokingly predict whether a food they’re about to touch is real or fake. She guesses incorrectly each time with funny, dramatic reactions! It makes it even funnier that she was all dressed up for a performance on IVE’s SHOW WHAT I HAVE Tour. We need her to drop her pre-show routine.
‘I WANT’ A Balanced Diet
So many of our favorite idols inspire us to pursue our dreams and be our best selves, and part of being our best selves is making sure we’re eating healthy. Rei reminded us to enjoy some vegetables with her video to a children’s song called ‘Veggie Dance!’ Between her cool sunglasses and how excited she seems to eat her veggies, it makes us wanna add some extra greens to our plate!
