The coming of a new K-Band onto the scene will always be something to celebrate, even more so when it’s composed of idols we’ve seen shine on stage before and are getting a new, different chance to showcase their talents. Let us introduce you to LATENCY, one of our most anticipated debuts of 2026! This band is composed of professional guitar player, Heeyeon (also known as Fingerstylish), ZZONE, Haeun, Semi, members of cignature, and Hyunjin, member of LOONA and Loossemble. They released their first song in January and have now come out with their first mini-album, and our expectations were right where they needed to be. LATE O’CLOCK is a perfect first mini-album, and here’s why.
‘LATENCY’
When we say we love K-Bands, a song like ‘LATENCY’ explains exactly why. The song encapsulates the K-Band vibe perfectly, with melodies that feel both hopeful and an atmosphere that feels full of bittersweetness. With a catchy guitar riff and explosive emotional vocals, ‘LATENCY’ sticks in the mind and creates a clear image. ‘LATENCY‘ is about second chances, holding on to love. While the song can be interpreted in several ways, it clearly represents the band’s journey and their love for music. That outpouring of passion can be felt in every note, making ‘LATENCY’ a must-listen for anyone who loves vulnerable pop-rock and the perfect song to represent the band.
LATE O’CLOCK
‘LATENCY’ is enough to see the promise and talent in the band, but every track in LATE O’CLOCK adds even more to their image and sound. This mini-album is the perfect way to establish themselves. The opening track, ‘SAY LOVE,’ is an instant energy boost, thanks to its intricate melodies and sweet vocals. While the lively, bright song doesn’t sound like anything else in the mini-album, ‘SAY LOVE’ is full of heart and establishes a joyful sound and energy that sticks with you throughout LATE O’CLOCK.
‘LATENCY’ is the perfect song to listen to in the middle of the night, and ‘MALIBU’ is the perfect song to complement it, adding a summer flavor to it. This track is groovy yet explores the bittersweet vibes even further, with lyrics about haunting memories. And as the girls sing, you can feel the emotion in their vocals and the uniqueness in each of their tones. Add the perfect instrumental, and you get a song that is extremely close to reaching the same levels of perfection as the title track.
‘IT WAS LOVE‘ was the first introduction we got to LATENCY as a band, and it encapsulates their unique energy and what they bring to the scene: the fun, joyful side, and the bittersweet, nostalgic energy. Its placement in the mini-album makes the song even better. While ‘LATENCY’ and ‘MALIBU’ are stuck in a bittersweet moment, ‘IT WAS LOVE’ is all about moving on and finding your own shine.
LATE O’CLOCK wraps up with ‘Starry Night,’ a beautiful, vulnerable ballad written by the members that retells their journey. The entirety of LATE O’CLOCK is dedicated to the people who have supported them. It pours love for music in every second, and it all becomes even clearer in ‘STARRY NIGHT.’ The song exemplifies resilience, hard work, and the promise of a new chapter, no matter what. After just one mini-album, it is clear that LATENCY has so much to offer to the scene.
