As a group that prides itself on creating their own art and crafting their music, every Stray Kids member has released a handful of songs written by them. With 3RACHA being the most credited members as the producing unit, every member has still had their touch in Stray Kids‘ sound, and Felix’s style in every song he has touched is not only evident but unforgettable. Every song he has created has been special and unique, but here are some of the times he absolutely outdid himself and gave us masterpieces.
‘Deep End’ (SKZ-Replay, 2022)
Felix‘s first solo track ever had a tight hold on everyone, and for a good reason. ‘Deep End‘ was unlike anything we could expect from him, sonically. He managed to make perfect use of his low voice and singular falsetto to create a haunting ballad about loss, hitting rock bottom and helplessness. The atmosphere he created by mixing his vocals with such hard-hitting lyrics is something that we have not seen anywhere else. The song is painful but has a sense of peace at the same time. And he did all of that with his first solo song.
‘Muddy Water’ (ODDINARY, 2022)
Felix has a way to set the tone for any song with his voice. More often than not, his verses are the highlight of any song. Whenever he adds his touch to his unit songs, you can feel it even more, and he has a way of making it even more memorable. The way he manages to embody songs with his energy and voice is unmatched, and ‘Muddy Water‘ is the perfect example. Opening the song with one of his best verses to date, he represents what ‘Muddy Water‘ is all about: confidence, power, and wittiness. With clever lyricism and an iconic reference to Demon Slayer, a few seconds into ‘Muddy Water‘ and he had already made it one of the best rap-focused songs in Stray Kids‘ discography.
‘UNFAIR’ (Hop, 2024)
With the release of ‘UNFAIR,’ it became absolutely undeniable that Felix‘s pen holds something truly special. ‘UNFAIR’ not only showcases his vocals, his conveyance of emotions, and his lyrics, but it also simply pushes all of these elements to another level. Felix didn’t just write a song with ‘UNFAIR,’ he wrote an entire story and embodied it with every single line. Writing the song from the perspective of the Beast in Beauty and the Beast, Felix explored the complexity of the emotions in such a poignant way. The angst, the desperation, all shown through beautiful melodies and hard-hitting verses: ‘UNFAIR‘ is a masterpiece in a league of its own.
‘Runners’ (ATE, 2024)
It isn’t just in solo songs or unit songs that Felix’s songwriting has brought us gems. ‘Runners‘ is one of the most memorable instances (at least for us) of feeling Felix’s presence and influence in a Stray Kids full-group song. ‘Runners‘ is unlike any other song in Stray Kids‘ discography with its dark cyberpunk influence. The wittiness and resilience in the lyrics scream Felix and Bang Chan‘s writing style, and it has been such a special addition to a perfect discography.
‘Slow It Down’ (2026)
‘Slow It Down’ has been the last addition to Felix‘s solo songs, and in only a few weeks, it might have taken the crown as his best song yet. Collaborating with different legends in the industry, ‘Slow It Down’ has Felix exploring his vocals in new ways, and it is by far his most vulnerable and emotionally raw song yet. No sugarcoating, it is just Felix opening up about his truest feelings in the form of a beautiful song. Even so, just like with ‘Deep End,’ the lyrics and atmosphere bring so much peace and comfort, and go to show the positive energy Felix brings to every song he touches.
