The K-band you need on your radar is back! Catch The Young is here with their first comeback, Catch The Young: Fragments of Odyssey, and if you’re not on board already, you need to be. The group has given us a mini-album that is rich with story-telling, which is something we’ll never complain about! From the title track ‘Voyager’ to the sweet reference in ‘Light On Me (1101),’ we’re hooked.
‘Voyager’
Catch The Young: Fragments of Odyssey’s title track, ‘Voyager,’ has so many classic rock elements and an impactful intro that builds so well. Something about the contrast between euphoria and nostalgia makes it feel like it would fit perfectly as the soundtrack in a 90s sitcom finale. In fact, we’d even go as far as to say that ‘Voyager’ reminded us of ‘Kiss Me’ by Sixpence None The Richer. It’s something about the tone of that guitar! Are you hearing what we’re hearing?
Plus, when Catch The Young said they were taking us on a voyage this era, they meant it. With lyrics like “Where the sky and ocean collide,’ and “I’m sailing into your heart,” the ocean won’t be the saltwater around, because our tears are about to be added to the mix. The mix of huge choruses and pared-back verses only adds to the wave-like feeling of the song!
Fragments of Odyssey B-Sides
In case ‘Voyager’ wasn’t enough to get you hooked, then don’t worry! Catch The Young gave us six b-sides in Fragments of Odyssey, too! ‘Sentimental Journey,’ ‘The Legend,’ ‘Always Forever,’ ‘About Us,’ ‘Light On Me (1101),’ and ‘Stay By My Side’ each add a new dimension to this album’s storyline.
And for those of you who are a little more eagle-eyed, you might’ve spotted something sentimental in a song title, and no, we don’t mean the one that’s literally called ‘Sentimental Journey.’ The penultimate track and the group’s first fan song, ‘Light On Me (1101),’ references Catch The Young’s debut date, November 1st, 2023. Cue our tears!
Our stand-out b-side from Fragments of Odyssey has to be ‘The Legend.’ for its iconic intro and the pop-punk influence that comes through so strongly. Catch The Young’s confidence seeps through every element of the song, and we love to see it! Bonus points if you spot the lyrics inspired by iconic gamer, Faker, too.

Seeing as this is Catch The Young’s first comeback, this is the perfect time to get to know the group! One of the most impressive things about them is how hands-on they are with their music.
