After a whopping four year hiatus, BIGBANG is back! While we don’t have a guarantee of new music, what we DO have is a lineup announcement from Coachella, with BIGBANG sitting pretty under Friday. This marks BIGBANG as the second KPOP artist, the first being BLACKPINK last spring, and the first KPOP boy group to perform at Coachella.

Due to South Korea’s mandatory military service, T.O.P, G-Dragon, Taeyang, and Daesung respectively have enlisted and discharged over the last three years. With the ever-changing and growing industry that is KPOP, many fans have been long-awaiting BIGBANG’s return to the music industry. In 2018, ‘Flower Road’ was the last song released by the group, dropped on the same day that members Taeyang and Daesung enlisted as a goodbye to their fans.
I don’t think y’all really understand. Is Coachella really ready for BIGBANG?
We as fans already know what they’re capable of and what their stage presence is like but for the ones who don’t know BIGBANG all I have to say is get ready #BIGBANGCoachella2020 pic.twitter.com/WrY1Y9jvmy— 🎈 (@bigb5ng_VIPS) January 3, 2020

But, with a discography that spans over a decade, with their first album’s release in 2006, their fans have proven through the years that their devotion to the group could last through their military hiatus.
BIGBANG’s career catapulted KPOP to the international sensation it is today. Gaining traction through their self compositions and production, the four-member group very easily became the biggest boy group in the world, long before KPOP exploded. Recognized by many as The Kings of KPOP, BIGBANG have never failed to prove exactly why they deserve that title.
BigBang is a 13 year old group whose last comeback was in 2016, went mia for two years for enlistment, lost a member during that process and started 2020 with the biggest news that they’ll be performing at coachella, it’s pretty iconic if you asked me
