What was the defining moment that you knew songwriting and singing would be your career path?
I always loved to sing when I was younger. What really made me think I could do this as a career was when we moved to Germany. I didn’t speak the language and I didn’t have any friends. So singing in my room became my new hobby and something that kept me out of trouble in my teenage years.
Your single ‘Young Queen’ talks about the relationship between a mother and daughter and the empowerment that comes from it. Can you elaborate more on your relationship and how it was essential to who and where you are now?
My mother is the ultimate queen. I am everything because of her and the belief & confidence she installed in me at a very young age but also how I carry myself & walk through life & treat others, it’s all my mom. I pray I have a daughter one day who will think just as highly of me as I think of my mom.

Directing and producing your video for ‘Young Queen’ is a super cool accomplishment. Can you tell us a bit about how you got into that?
Well, the truth is that as a new artist no one will prioritize you or hand you the best director to collaborate with. You’re given a small budget. When I started out, I used that as motivation to challenge myself & do something I’d forever be proud of. I take so much pride in what I do and no one but me knew what my vision was, so I felt like it was my responsibility to translate that visually. I am so proud of the record & video, both to me are timeless.
What was your favorite aspect of producing and directing yourself?
I grew as a co-producer & as a director. I’m learning to trust my vision more and more and it’s powerful and meaningful to me to be in control over my sound & visuals. I always want to grow and out do myself. My goal is to remain a humble badass and be my authentic self.
How do you approach your songwriting? Does it differ when you’re writing for yourself versus writing for others?
Yes, it’s different. I would say it’s easier writing for others because no one in this world is as picky as me – ask my team! LOL. Jk! Both are great outlets. But I prefer to write my songs because whatever I like or connect to, I’ll just release it and don’t need 76534 people’s approval!

As a songwriter, what artists have been the most fun to work with and why?
Every artist is different & I truly learn a lot from different artists. It can be their songwriting skills, their voice technique, their drive that I’ll be inspired by. So I can’t really pick one.
You have a very diverse background. How do you think your culture and upbringing sets you apart from most in the industry?
I moved away from my family when I was 19 and it’s not easy living on the other side of the world from them. I love my family so much and I put the love I have for my family into my music. That’s how ‘Young Queen’ came to life. I sing & write real records that tell real stories. I think my vulnerability and authenticity sets me apart from the rest.
What type of influences do fashion and beauty have on your career?
I love fashion. And I love to dress up. I had an Albanian designer dress me for my ‘Young Queen’ video & I loved collaborating with them. I just love any outlet that’s creative. I enjoy it so much. And truly come to life. I enjoy being picky and selective with colors, materials, and fabrics for each song. And I love giving each record its own world – lyrically, vocally & visually.
The world is blessed with an extensive collection of some seriously fantastic pop artists. Especially women. Who are some of your inspirations in the current industry?
Beyonce, Adele, Rihanna are my kings! I love them so so much. They’re all badasses and so fearless and just themselves and I love that about them. Everything they do blows me away.
What draws fans to your music?
You would have to ask them & not me! LOL! Jk! I think my authenticity in my lyrics & my melodies. How I sing & how I present myself in my videos.
What can we look forward to from you in the future?
More music! I’m releasing a new record next month so stay tuned! 🙂
You heard this lovable lady! New music and a lot of it is coming our way next month, so get ready!
