We could spend hours talking about how Bruno Mars is one of the biggest artists of the 21st century, citing his clever concepts, slick vocals, and vivid lyrics, but we’ll save you some time. Numbers can’t lie and Bruno has the math on his side – he just became the first artist to ever have six singles hit Diamond status, not long after becoming the first artist with five Diamond singles!

This calls for a celebration, so let’s take a little trip down memory lane and look back at Bruno’s buzzing Diamond singles! We”re sure these are all on your playlists already, but if not, consider this our official petition for you to add them.

‘Locked Out Of Heaven’

Let’s start off with Bruno’s most recently-certified track, ‘Locked Out Of Heaven!’ After its release in 2012, this song was absolutely everywhere – it dominated radio, was all over iTunes, and it was even on One Direction’s pre-concert playlist before they took the stage at the Where We Are Tour! Between the retro vibe, the sweet sentiment of a relationship feeling like heaven, and Bruno’s vocals, this was always destined to be a hit.

‘Just The Way You Are’

Another song that was absolutely everywhere is the romantic ‘Just The Way You Are,’ which addresses Bruno’s partner’s insecurities and how she’s beautiful not just in spite of them, but because of them. Over 1.7 billion YouTube views can’t lie – ‘Just The Way You Are’ is simply iconic!

‘Grenade’

One of Bruno’s earliest hits, ‘Grenade’ really helped propel him to become the household name he is today. This angsty, piano-led anthem sees Bruno calling out someone who didn’t appreciate his effort or attention in a relationship, and his frustration shines through in every note he sings. Is anyone over those high notes? Because we sure aren’t, even over a decade later!

‘When I Was Your Man’

Grab some tissues, because it’s time to talk about the heartwrenching ballad that is ‘When I Was Your Man.’ You know that feeling when you see your ex with someone new? Either you’re unbothered and living your best life regardless (go you!), you’re devastated, or you just hope their current relationship is better than the one you had. Bruno is a mix of the two latter on this track, wishing he could’ve been the one to give his ex what she deserves while wishing her the best. It really showcases his lyrical ability and storytelling talent!

‘That’s What I Like’

Okay, we’re done with the heartbreak songs, so wipe your tears and get ready to dance! ‘That’s What I Like’ is a fun love song all about enjoying the finer things together and just having a good time with someone you care about. Bruno can effortlessly make us emotional with his sadder lyrics, so it’s always nice to hear him use his attention to detail to tell a more carefree story.
