Because they are back with their new repackage, Ay-Yo, and it is pure proof that with every comeback they make, they will make our blood run neo-green. So, stay close to your Neobongs because we are about to pass through a wormhole, as our boys say!
Ay-Yo is NCT 127’s repackage of their fourth studio album, 2 Baddies, and since they shined so bright with 2 Baddies, we were so excited about this repackage. The boys managed to fuel this excitement with various spoilers and how they talked about the new title track, which has the same name as the album, ‘Ay-Yo.’ They told us the song was beyond our expectations, with multiple killing parts and challenging choreography. And they weren’t lying at all.

Ay-Yo! In the end, I make my way. Leaving behind nothing, not even ashes. Ballin’ big time and I say, ‘Ay-Yo!’
NCT 127’s ‘Ay-Yo’
The title track, ‘Ay-Yo,’ is really nothing we expected. Unlike NCT 127’s newer songs, this song is more similar to their older tracks that we admire, and with ‘Ay-Yo,’ we totally realized how much we miss this sound and how it fits them well. Just like how every group out there has their own signature elements in their songs, NCT 127 has their own, too, and one of those NEO elements is definitely mixing up good, heavy music with rap parts that slap and heavenly vocals. ‘Ay-Yo’ has this, too! It is definitely a feel-good hip-hop song to listen to when you need motivation. With a very uplifting message, the 127 boys showcase their incredible talents, and we are absolutely blessed.
And, of course, along with the title track and the album, we got a music video for ‘Ay-Yo,’ and that’s exactly where we lost our minds. As NCTzen, you’d expect us to get used to those holy visuals, but with the ‘Ay-Yo’ music video, we understood once again that we would never get used to how beautiful these men look. The MV has the coolest vibe ever with the outfits, choreography, special effects, and, undoubtedly, excellent directing and editing. This comeback, we were especially curious about the whole choreography, and from what we see from the MV, NCT 127 absolutely slayed it. We’re so here for it!
‘DJ’
‘DJ’ was the first track we got to hear out of the new songs on the Ay-Yo repackage thanks to the track video, and for us, it was a fantastic start. We are “feeling wonderful” that we got into this era of NCT 127 with such a cheerful song! While talking about ‘DJ,’ NCT 127 said that they wanted to create a vibe similar to ‘Touch’ and show their cute and goofy side, and they exactly did it in the best way possible. Our hearts are warmed up every time we listen to ‘DJ’ and watch the track video. The smooth vocals, the clean rap lines, the concept, and the visualization of the track video never fail to put a smile on our faces.
‘Skyscraper’
The moment they dropped the album and we got to listen to ‘Skyscraper,’ we were sure that this would be a fan-favorite, and we were right. While listening to this beautiful track, headphones aren’t enough. So we are patiently waiting for the day NCT 127 screams this song to our faces! ‘Skyscraper’ is a song that portrays different sides of NCT 127’s musical skills, from rapping to the vocals. The rap parts take our breaths away every time we listen to it, but when we hear our vocal line’s adlibs on the back, this is absolute heaven. The song also does its job as proof that NCT 127 members are all all-rounders, because these men can all rap and sing. We don’t ask for too much, just give us one ‘Skyscraper’ performance video and we’ll be forever satisfied.
Every time NCT 127 comes back with new music, they make us prouder than ever before. We are so happy to see the boys keep going with the iconic “NEO sound” and mix it with new trends of the current time but, more importantly, being happy while they are doing their jobs and reflecting that they are enjoying this. So please excuse us now, because we will go ahead and keep streaming ‘Ay-Yo’ like there is no tomorrow.
