It’s that time of the week again! Fresh Music Friday is back and we are ready to break down the best of what’s new in music for you guys, and this week is stacked! From a Carlie Hanson album to a Bryce Vine EP, and some solo Mike Shinoda music, you can’t go wrong with a single project on this wrap-up!
morgen – BRAVADO
We are kicking off Fresh Music Friday with an incredible EP brought to us by morgen! This entire EP feels so experimental, and like such a true labor of love that only a tried and true artist can deliver. ‘Second’ has to be our standout track!

Chloe Ann – ‘Never Call You Mine’
Chloe Ann is coming right out of the gate with a pop masterpiece that we can all relate to with ‘Never Call You Mine.’ ‘Never Call You Mine’ is an upbeat bit of ear candy that we have been singing non-stop since our first listen. That’s how you know a pop song is good, when want to dance around a room screaming the words.
Reevah – ‘Without You’
Reevah is about to become a playlist staple for us after hearing ‘Without You.’ The feeling we got while listening to this track is only comparable to the feeling we get listening to Gracie Abrams or Lizzy McAlpine, and that’s the highest of high praise!

Kelsey Hickman – ‘Novocaine’
‘Novocaine’ is such a stellar introduction to Kelsey Hickman for anyone who isn’t already familiar. Her voice pairs so well with what we can only describe as an almost blues-like backing track, which mind you, we’re obsessed with. ‘Novocaine’ is exactly how you make a comeback after years of not releasing music.

TO LEARN MORE ABOUT KELSEY HICKMAN:
Joel Corry – ‘Nikes’
‘Nikes’ is the exact funky breath of fresh air that the music scene is always looking for! Joel Corry had absolutely blown us away with this take on ‘Walking Down The Street,’ of course by Ron Carroll! ‘Nikes’ is a track we could easily see blowing up on TikTok and being absolutely everywhere, so we have our fingers crossed that y’all latch onto this track as we have!

Mae Muller – ‘I Wrote A Song’
We always can count on our girl Mae Muller to put out a song that we can dance on a night out! And not only is ‘I Wrote A Song’ an absolute smash, but the track is the UK’s entry for EUROVISION 2023, and that’s absolutely huge! With the good vibes and the artistry on display here, it makes perfect sense to us that Mae Muller would receive such an honor.

Mike Shinoda – ‘In My Head’
Any day we get to get inside the mind of Mike Shinoda, who helped musically shape so many of our lives, it’s a good day! Mike Shinoda has jumped on board the Scream train, and along with Kailee Morgue has crafted ‘In My Head’ for the Scream VI soundtrack! We can’t wait to see exactly how Mike’s track fits in as we see the survivors of the Ghostface (it’s Stu, in our hearts, we are praying it’s Stu) killings leave Woodsboro and head to the Big Apple!
We are already ready for more Mike Shinoda music ASAP.

Carlie Hanson – Wisconsin
The moment we have eagerly been waiting for is here! We have Wisconsin, Carlie Hanson’s newest album for our listening pleasure! If you were reading THP back when ‘Blueberry Pancakes’ came out, you would know how much we raved about that track, and how excited we were for the project on which the track exists. Wisconsin did not disappoint! This record is cold, hard proof that Carlie Hanson is one of the most genre-bending, true-to-self artists making music.
If we had to pick a favorite song, we would have to once again highlight ‘Blueberry Pancakes.’ ‘Blueberry Pancakes’ is not just a standout from Carlie’s album, but also of the entirety of 2023 in music so far, for us!

Bryce Vine – Serotonin
We are ending Fresh Music Friday with a dose of Serotonin, brought to us by Bryce Vine! This entire five-track EP is going to be the soundtrack to all of our summer nights, which is just what we hoped it would be. From ‘Nostalgia’ to ‘Gold Rush,’ this mix of what we’re used to when it comes to Bryce’s sound, and a whole new sound makes for what we would consider to be Bryce’s best project yet.
