Revisiting Post Malone’s 8 Iconic Diamond-Certified Songs

Imagine becoming not only one of the biggest artists of the moment, but also one of the biggest artists of all time. Imagine you did that within a decade of releasing your breakout single. And all before the age of 30. Post Malone doesn’t have to imagine any of that, because it’s already happened to him! With ‘I Fall Apart,’ ‘Better Now,’ and ‘Circles’ getting updated certifications, Post is officially the artist with the most Diamond-certified singles of all time, with eight of his biggest hits earning the honor!

But that’s not all that his fans have to cheer for. It’s Post Malone, after all, and he’s celebrating this accomplishment with The Diamond Collection, a compilation of some of his biggest hits and one new one… more on that later! For now, let’s dive into Post’s eight Diamond-certified songs and why they each deserve that recognition.

‘White Iverson’

First off, we have Post’s breakout single, ‘White Iverson!’ It was really a signal of what was to come from his music – it hits on the celebratory vibes we heard later with tracks like ‘Congratulations,’ includes a fun pop culture reference as he compares himself to NBA player Allen Iverson, and brings in a snappy, catchy chorus that you’ll be singing along with by the end of the song.

‘Congratulations’ Feat. Quavo

With how much Post has achieved over the past few years, it feels wild that he released ‘Congratulations’ all the way back in 2016. This man simply never stops winning! From graduations and parties to quiet nights in your room when you’re reflecting on an exciting accomplishment, ‘Congratulations’ is the ultimate mood booster that’ll make you wanna celebrate. It’s a reminder that there’s always a payoff for the work you put into your dreams and that energy is so motivating.

‘I Fall Apart’

Part of what makes Post Malone such a special artist is how he unapologetically bares his emotions, and ‘I Fall Apart’ is a prime example of how moving it can be when he does. It’s all about an ex who “left [him] with a broken heart” after he gave her multiple chances, and it perfectly captures the mix of sadness and anger that follows a breakup. If you’re going through heartache, this song will make you feel unbelievably seen and feel like a big, comforting hug.

‘rockstar’ Feat. 21 Savage

Blending all the best of pop, hip-hop, and rock, Post Malone is truly a rockstar in his own right, and ‘rockstar’ celebrates the success and lifestyle he’s earned by being exactly who he is. It combines that rocker confidence with trap beats and a poppy, catchy hook that sticks in your head immediately. This was truly a cultural moment, and it reminds us of so many great memories from that time! Who would we need to talk to to get another 21 Savage collab?

‘Psycho’ Feat. Ty Dolla $ign

Who doesn’t love a good flex anthem? ‘Psycho’ is a more subdued celebration of Post’s success up to that point, acknowledging the darker sides that come with it and noting that you “can’t really trust nobody with all this jewelry on you.” It’s a thoughtful reflection on how far he’d come that’s still just as relevant today, now that he’s gone so much further! A guest verse from Ty Dolla $ign keeps the energy going and serves as a reminder that Post was already among legends even back in 2018.

‘Better Now’

Does anyone else think that ‘Better Now’ sounds even better now than it did in 2018? This is a song that’s truly stood the test of time, and it was such a smash that Taylor Swift even added it to the pre-show playlist for her reputation Stadium Tour. Not only did it have support from A-listers, but it also had plenty of support from fans, to the point where the music video is almost entirely clips of fans jamming out at Post’s shows. It’s become a testament to the power of Post’s music and his bond with his listeners all over the world!

‘Sunflower’ With Swae Lee

From the Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse soundtrack, to the radio, to even your grandma’s playlist, ‘Sunflower’ was truly everywhere when it came out. It’s a sunny, upbeat song about the beginning stages of a relationship and questioning what it could become. And in case the song itself isn’t enough to convince you of its impact, the numbers will be. ‘Sunflower’ was certified 17x Platinum back in November, making it the highest-certified song of all time. On top of that, it’s one of the most-streamed songs in Spotify history, racking up over 2.6 billion streams over the past four and a half years.

‘Circles’

When we heard those introductory guitar strums for the first time, we knew we were in for something special with ‘Circles!’ It’s all about the back-and-forth of a relationship that was “doomed from the get-go,” but the two keep colliding nonetheless. It felt like such a refreshing change of pace back in late 2019, and it’s still just as exciting three and a half years later. And can we talk about that amazing, medieval-themed music video? Sometimes making it work with the one you love feels as difficult as rescuing a princess from a tower in a village full of zombies and burning suits of armor, but it’s worth putting up a fight if you care about them that much.

BONUS: His Next Diamond Song?

While celebrating his musical past, Post is also welcoming us into a new era of his art with ‘Chemical,’ an indie pop-inspired jam that would make the perfect soundtrack for a coming-of-age movie. The lyrics talk about being in love with someone that you “couldn’t leave… if [you] tried” and ditching parties to spend time together… even if you wind up fighting in a bar later. Everyone secretly wants a love that is devoted, and until we find it for ourselves, we’ll be listening to ‘Chemical’ on repeat. Then once we find it, we’ll listen to ‘Chemical’ on repeat with that person.

A big THP ‘Congratulations’ goes out to Post Malone for becoming the artist with the most Diamond singles in history! Even with so many jaw-dropping achievements, we know that this is just the beginning of his musical legacy, and we can’t wait to see what he has up his sleeve for the next chapter. If it’s anything like what we’ve seen so far, it’ll change so many lives around the world in a way only Post could pull off.
