VAV are back after a long wait of two years and nine months (yes, we’ve been counting!) It’s finally time to dust off your VAV photocards and grab your lightstick to celebrate. With their new 7th mini album, Subcönscióus, the boys have officially ended their hiatus and are ensuring their presence is known. This latest album explores the subconscious areas of the mind and delivers a powerful message of hope. Ultimately, the album reminds us that everyone has the power and potential to shine. VAV are always occupying our subconscious and we couldn’t be happier to see them back. So, without any more waiting, here are three things we love about VAV’s new Subcönscióus era.
1. ‘Designer’
Of course, we’re starting with their latest title track, because at The Honey POP, we’re neck deep in their promotional content. The title track, ‘Designer,’ is an extension of VAV’s Latin-influenced musical style and follows their previous hits like ‘Señorita’ and ‘Give Me More.’ This song carries the powerful message that everyone can design their own lives.
It’s an incredibly groovy song that will make you want to drop everything and dance. The mix of the deeper raps and lighter vocals paired with the harmonious hook during the chorus is incredible. With ‘Designer,’ the team makes it known that they’re back to showcase their mature sound and how they’ve grown as artists and individuals over the past 3 years.
2. The Members’ Active Participation
All six members of VAV have always gone above and beyond within their projects. In their latest project, every member participated in the production of all five tracks. This truly showcases their artistic growth and passion for their music. They’ve put their heart and soul into their music and continue to prove themselves as self-producing artists since the release of their fourth mini-album.
Within Subcönscióus, each member has extensive writing, producing, and composer credits, with members Lou and Ayno participating in writing ‘Designer,’ and ACE co-composing ‘Call U Mine’ and ‘Reason.’ And this is only the beginning of the list! Their multifaceted talents are shining throughout this era.
3. Cinematic Storytelling
When it comes to K-Pop, storytelling, and mesmerizing visuals are often at the forefront.
