It is so hard to pick a singular favorite off of Liverpool’s Reignmaker’s new EP, We Go Round. Giving new life and energy to indie-rock, the five-piece band brings something intriguing to the table with distorted guitars, impassioned vocals, and thudding basslines. Since the rise of indie-rock bands in the last few years (Arctic Monkeys, we’re looking at you), it’s so important to support the bands that have been inspired by the titans of the alternative music industry.
We love the upbeat, soaring melodies Reignmaker brings to the table in their newest EP. We’ve been vibing to We Go Round ever since its release.

‘Find My Own Way’
The first track off the We Go Round EP captures the essence of a melancholic song, in the best way. Even with its bright guitar hooks, the underlying melody conveys a sense of nostalgia and sadness. The bassline thuds in the way you’d expect, and the soaring nature of the pre-chorus leaves you swinging along to the song with your eyes closed. Reignmaker talks about losing someone you love, remembering the times with them, and moving along slowly.
‘We Go Round’
The title track of the EP just soothes that one part of our brain that is obsessed with sparkly guitars and a melodic bridge. With a blink-182-inspired guitar intro, the lead vocalist coasts delicately over the choruses and verses. The band writes about being present in whatever moment you’re in, not allowing the voices in your head to ruin something that in time will be a memory. And when the bridge hits, the soaring feeling that leaves us speechless overcoming us as the dynamics shift, the song becoming loud and emotionally charged, leaving us with goosebumps up and down our arms.
We Go Round is such a good debut EP, and we really can’t wait to see what Reignmaker comes up with in the future. Keep an eye on this band – their songs are addictive.
