However, that will not stop us from imagining what it would be like if there were to be a concert. Sorry if we got your hopes up …
Honestly, we spend most of our days wondering what the One Direction reunion concert would be like. Naturally, we decided to share our thoughts with other Directioners. Being deprived of new OT5 content takes a toll on us Directioners; this is how we’re forced to cope. So, dear readers, let us join together as one delulu team and create our dream setlist.
‘Up All Night’
The album’s title track and an absolute bop. If you want to smile uncontrollably and have fun, this song is for you. ‘Up All Night’ would be a perfect opener as it immediately sets an excited mood and elicits pure joy from listeners! We would very much like to stay up all night with One Direction. It is, in fact, true.
The song’s energetic tempo and catchy energy make it a timeless anthem! ‘Up All Night’ never fails to spark that flame of happiness within us, whether it’s during a late-night drive with friends, at a party to get the crowd on their feet, or simply performing a concert to your stuffed animals and imaginary fans alone in your room. It always slaps so hard.
Cue the tears …
Aside from its musical genius, ‘Up All Night’ has a special place in Directioners’ hearts because it represents the start of an insane journey for One Direction. ‘Up All Night’ was one of the top tracks on their debut album, which sent the boys into stardom and laid the groundwork for their eventual chart-topping success. 🥹🥲
‘She’s Not Afraid’
Seeing as ‘She’s Not Afraid’ is Louis’ favorite song to perform, we had no choice but to put it on the setlist! Honestly, we can agree with Louis.
Let us paint a picture for you: The stadium’s lights flash and the screams of fans fill the air. The excitement and anticipation is tangible. ‘Up All Night’ has just ended, and suddenly the first chords of ‘She’s Not Afraid’ echo around the arena. Tell us you didn’t just get chills … because we did!
Despite being released in 2012, ‘She’s Not Afraid’ has stood the test of time and continues to be a fan favorite! 2023 One Direction would absolutely crush a live performance of ‘She’s Not Afraid!’
The track immediately catches the listener’s attention with its irresistible melody—a blend of pop and rock elements that perfectly captures One Direction’s unique sound! The song emits an exciting energy that keeps us hooked from start to finish! With captivating and upbeat melodies, fun lyrics, and an overall jubilant vibe, the track never fails to make listeners want to party! The song’s fun chorus showcases the band’s ability to generate iconic sing-along moments that never get old!
‘Right Now’
Did you really think we would ignore all the sad songs? HA! Never … if we have to hurt, so do you xoxo!
‘Right Now’ is a masterpiece. It’s a song that deserves astronomical amounts of praise. It deserves to be the song of the year, every year! ‘Right Now’ is essentially one of the best songs ever. If you disagree, you’re lying to yourself and everyone around you.
The song is a gorgeous piece of work both sonically and lyrically. With the harmonies, high notes, emotional lyrics, and stunning musicality, ‘Right Now’ is a siren song to us Directioners. It wraps its invisible ropes around our hearts and pulls us close, refusing to let go until every emotion has been brought out. To sum it up, the track is an emotional rollercoaster.
Leaving a song like ‘Right Now’ off our dream setlist would be wrong. Every concert needs a song that will have the crowd putting their phone torches in the air; this is the song for that.
Honorary mention to the San Siro fan project *cries in showers that are British.*
‘No Control’
What. A. Song. Not only is it one of the most listened-to tracks on Four, but there is also a dance routine choreographed by the legend himself, James Corden. The song is fun, sexy, and vibey. ‘No Control’ makes you want to get up and dance around while scream-singing at 3 a.m.
After its release, ‘No Control’ immediately took the world by storm, wasting no time in becoming a fan favorite. This blazing pop-rock track was co-written by none other than Louis Tomlinson, and it demonstrates the band’s unmistakable artistic growth. ‘No Control’ is iconic! The track confirmed that the boys had grown beyond their adorable boy-band image and were ready to take on a more authentic, sexy, heavy, mature, and edgy sound.
Let’s talk lyrics. Oh. Dear. God. The lyrics.
“Sweet, where you lay / still a trace of innocence on the pillow case.”
“Waking up / beside you, I’m a loaded gun / I can’t contain this anymore / I’m all yours, I’ve got no control / no control.”
“The taste on my tongue / I don’t want to wash away the night before.”
Screaming, crying, throwing up. Unhinged. That’s all we have to say about those lyrics. Mr. Tomlinson, do you have something you want to share with the group?
‘Walking In the Wind’
This was one of the hardest decisions we have had to make in a long time. Made In The A.M. is an album with zero skips. Every track shines brightly, but at the end of the day, we could only choose one song to put on this list. We believe we made the correct decision. If you don’t already know, ‘Walking In The Wind’ talks about the end of an era. The boys sing about the bittersweetness that comes with a breakup. However, said breakup has ended on a positive note!
As we look at the lyrics of ‘Walking in the Wind,’ we can’t help but think about the band’s hiatus that hit shortly after the release of Made In The A.M. In a way, the song can be directly associated with this breakup.
‘Walking In The Wind’ is a melancholy reflection of the truly amazing era that One Direction shared with their fans and the lasting legacy they have left behind. ‘Walking in the Wind’ is more than just a song for Directioners; it’s a reminder that although the band may not be together, they will always be there for fans.
With lyrics such as:
“Goodbyes are bittersweet / But it’s not the end / I’ll see your face again“
We are almost reassured that everything will be alright. The band may not be together anymore, but that doesn’t mean that the boys, the memories, the laughs, the love, and everything else in between will completely disappear. Nothing can destroy the bond created between the boys and their fans.
‘Home’
Although ‘Home’ is a stand-alone track that isn’t featured on any One Direction album, it would be criminal for us to leave it off our dream setlist. ‘Home’ will always have an extremely special place in Directioners’ hearts and deserves an honorary mention. Many of us call One Direction “home.” They say home is where the heart is; our hearts are with One Direction and the boys alone. They make us feel seen, safe, happy, and content. We can’t describe how grateful we are for them and everything they have done for us.
“You’ll never feel like you’re alone / I’ll make this feel like home.”

Solo Tracks
Imagine a One Direction reunion concert where all the boys sing each other’s songs. Give us a minute to compose ourselves. This is the exact reason we are putting this last on our list … it’s not easy to type while crying.
Choosing which solo tracks we want to hear is a very difficult task; consequently, we are passing that job on to you. When we picture Zayn singing the ‘Bigger Than Me’ high note, Niall singing ‘Cinema,’ Liam singing ‘Tightrope,’ Louis singing ‘Science,’ and Harry singing ‘Put A Little Love On Me,’ we spiral and crumble into a ball of emotions.
