The past two weeks for alt-music have been insane. But if you’re like us and overwhelmed /positive with all the new releases, we got you! This week’s Hot Alt Alert will catch you up on music from last week and this week. We have so much to fangirl over, like The Band CAMINO’s The Dark, Bearings’ new album, and Magnolia Park’s—okay, you get the point. Let’s dive right in.
The Band CAMINO — The Dark
We’ve been listening to their latest single, ‘See You Later’ on repeat. So we’re so stoked to finally have the whole album! They’ve truly elevated their sound to a whole new level, and we’re here for it. Our favorite is ‘Novocaine,’ and we’ve been vibing to it so hard. This song is a mix of both old and new CAMINO, and we’re absolutely obsessed.

Breezy Supreme — Gener8ion X
Breezy Supreme’s new album dropped last week too. We were extra hyped after their single, ‘Contact Me,’ was released. We love how this album has both elements of newer and classic pop punk, with this song leaning towards the latter. We’d also like to give a shoutout to ‘Thank You Catherine Obvious’ because that song title is genius.

Best Ex — ‘I Promise To Ruin Your Life’
We can’t get enough of this catchy alt-pop song. It’s about the start of a new relationship. You know, where you think it could end like your previous relationships, but you hope it doesn’t. Some of the lyrics may be pessimistic, but sonically, it’s so fun and upbeat.

World’s First Cinema — ‘Palm Reader’
Sonically and lyrically, ‘Palm Reader’ is absolutely beautiful. And the music video is equally stunning. It was filmed at the Los Angeles Theatre, and it just takes the experience of the song to a whole different level. We know it’s not a film, but we’ll call it a cinematic masterpiece.

Chad Tepper — Never Stood A Chance
This is Chad Tepper’s debut album, and he came out with a bang. Never Stood A Chance is a vibe, and we know you’ll love it too. We’re absolutely obsessed with ‘Run The World (feat. Bryce Vine).’ It was meant to be played on full volume with the windows down and is perfect for summer.

Bearings — The Best Part About Being Human
We’ve been anxiously awaiting Bearings’ new album because they released amazing singles like ‘Gone So Gone’ and ‘Live Forever Never Die.’ Don’t get us wrong, this is 100% a no-skip album, but the final track, ‘Human,’ is just everything to us. If we had to choose a favorite lyric, it’d be, “Cause I know slowly over time I’ll become someone I might like.” We really hope that they play this one on their headlining tour this fall.

Magnolia Park — MoonEater
Mag Park has been releasing banger after banger. How many bands do you know that drop two EPs on the same day? Absolutely iconic.
As far as unreleased songs go, our pick for the darker and heavier EP of the two is definitely ‘Unholy Heart’ featuring Honey Revenge. We’ll give you two reasons why.
1. Devin’s and Josh’s vocals complement each other so well. We need another collab, please.
2. Vampires. That’s it. This song is just beautiful vampire metaphors.
Magnolia Park — SoulEater
SoulEater is a complete 180 from MoonEater, as intended. They really said, “We have the range!” We’re obsessed with this lighter and brighter EP, as well. ‘Blud Luv’ featuring Decode, is our favorite. This song is just so fun, and you can’t not dance to this song.
