When you are an artist, your actions carry greater weight, as they can impact the lives of thousands. Often, the mark they leave goes far beyond just themselves, and YOSHIKI knows this. And speaking of impact? We are excited to tell you that this past weekend, YOSHIKI became the first Japanese artist honored by TCL Chinese Theatre, and we have all the details!
There are so many things that we could say to introduce an artist like YOSHIKI, but we feel like there aren’t enough words to do it properly. However, we suppose we’ve got to try, so in a nutshell, he is the leader of the rock groups X Japan and The Last Rockstars, bands that have sold over 30 million albums and singles.
And we are not the only ones who say that he is so unique, as Billboard has described YOSHIKI as a “musical innovator.” He is not only an exceptional musician, he is also a a fashion icon, founder of a non-profit organization, and a director!
Leaving His Mark Everywhere!
We could keep going on, but it is impossible to summarize the career of an artist like YOSHIKI. However, what has just been added to his list of countless achievements is what has gathered us here today!
YOSHIKI is the first Japanese artist with a hand and footprint ceremony at the Chinese Theatre in Hollywood is YOSHIKI. The event was attended by Gene Simmons, Lee Byung-hun, and many others. Icons who all gathered to celebrate YOSHIKI!
And There Is Still More!
We are so excited about this that we gathered some iconic songs and projects of YOSHIKI that undoubtedly will make you a fan, just as we are!
His Music
The voice, the rhythm, the aesthetic the whole thing is just perfect. As a solo artist, YOSHIKI proves that music is his destiny, and of course his ability. The proof is in the fact that the track he made was the first anime track to rank in the top 10 on iTunes worldwide!
As the band that made him worldwide known, X Japan should definitely be on the list of reasons to be a fan! A dream that came true in spite of so many “no’s” around him. The dream that sold out the 55,000-seat Tokyo Dome a record-breaking 18 times!
After this, if you are not a Japanese music fan, you might re-read this piece (and more here). The Last Rockstars is YOSHIKI’s second group, and a band with a unique style and lyrics that just blew our bee-minds!
His Brands!
Even though we could keep on buzzing about his music all day, we want to make a short recap (if that’s even possible) of his career, including his amazing brands!
YOSHIKIMONO
The first fashion brand of YOSHIKI was an undeniable success! He is the designer of his high-fashion kimono brand. The brand plays with colors, textures, and emerging fashions. They are such a unique expression that only YOSHIKI could achieve.
