The album title that kind of predicted the future of One Direction. Okay sorry, sorry that was uncalled for (but it’s true…). Or maybe Made In The A.M. should have been called Four because that would have been very descriptive. Okay, okay we will stop now. Either way, this album deserves all the love and more. Though all of One Direction’s albums are the best, Four will always have a special place in our hearts. And we have narrowed it down to our top four reasons.
Bradford’s Bad Boy
The first is, of course, Zayn Malik. The last album and songs we had with all five of the band members together. With Zayn as a part of One Direction. The band always felt never whole again without him. His high notes, his presence; the last album that had all of this.
‘Night Changes’ Music Video
Another reason would be the music video. We girlies really won with this music video. We all got to go on our own dates with each of the boys!!! Without this album, this would not have been possible. The Wattpad girlies were never the same after this video. We feel like this reason alone makes the album the best. Now if only the dates were not through a screen but in real life. Maybe one day, delulu will be the solulu.
The Songs
We know there are Harry Styles’ ‘Satellite‘ stomps. But before all that, we had the amazing Niall stomps/dance to ‘Act My Age.’ Take us back to those days, please. We also got the amazing ‘No Control‘ choreography by James Corden which will always be famous. Also ‘Steal My Girl???’ ‘Stockholm Syndrome???’ ‘Illusion???’ This album had a banger after banger. And most of all, Four gave us ‘Fool’s Gold.’ Just… ‘Fool’s Gold!’ A no-skip album 100%.
Their Growth
Now, the most important reason. Four shows the growth of One Direction and each of its members as musicians: Their sound changed from the teens we all saw originally on X-Factor to grown adults and mature musicians. This album clearly showcases their strength as songwriters and vocalists, all five of them. It is why, we believe Four is the best One Direction album to exist. Well, until they drop their reunion album or at least have a reunion concert (remember, delulu is the solulu)! Until then, we will keep listening to One Direction songs on repeat and using their quotes at any time possible such as as our senior quote.
