A new year means new music from jxdn (finally!) We knew that his latest single, ‘WHEN THE MUSIC STOPS,’ was going to bring a start to the waterworks, but we still weren’t prepared enough. Released on jxdn’s 23rd birthday, ‘WHEN THE MUSIC STOPS’ carries us into a new era in his career but also shines a light on the painful loss that came before.

We’ve always admired jxdn’s ability to make us feel so many emotions and allow us to get a glimpse into what he’s feeling. The music video for ‘WHEN THE MUSIC STOPS’ is no exception. We’d fair to say this is one of his most vulnerable videos yet. Dark and somber, symbolizing the fear, loneliness, uncertainty, sadness… we felt it all! With beautiful juxtaposition, most of the scenes were lit by home movies of jxdn and his late best friend, Cooper Noriega. Cooper was such a bright light in so many people’s lives and still continues to be, even through memories.
When the music stops, oh, so do I. Can you feel it? ’Cause I’m losin’ feelin’, waitin’ for hope.

Cooper’s Legacy
‘WHEN THE MUSIC STOPS’ is such a beautiful tribute to a beautiful soul gone too soon. For those who don’t know about Cooper and his mission, before he passed in June 2022, Cooper was an incredible advocate for mental health and addiction recovery. Much like jxdn, he used his story and his struggles to connect to his fanbase and remind them they do not have to go through things alone.
His legacy continues to live on through the amazing work of the Coop’s Advice Foundation and the Coop’s Advice Discord server he created to build a supportive community. His friends and family keep his dreams alive every day, and we’ll never stop reminding people about all of the incredible work they’re doing in Coop’s honor.
The Music Isn’t Stopping Yet
This song is also a testament to jxdn’s strength and resilience, which should also be celebrated. No one can truly understand what heartache or burdens someone else is carrying; grief is never linear, and healing is a personal process. Still, we thank jxdn for once again laying it all on the table and giving us music to cry to, heal to, feel to… and relate to.

We know that the music won’t stop (pun intended) anytime soon for jxdn. He’s already teased that his sophomore album will be available in the Summer of 2024 and that there are more single releases ahead.
