Sasha Alex Sloan is back with her latest single ‘Me Again.’ And that means we’re back too with more recommendations for fans of Sasha! We can hardly wait for her album of the same name, out May 17. Sasha’s music is so relatable, we can’t get enough of it. But alas, we must wait two more months. The good news is we have some songs for you to make the wait a little more bearable!
‘Me Again’ is all about looking forward to the future. Sasha knows, and we know, that life can get tough sometimes and it can be easy to lose yourself. Sasha is going through the difficult but rewarding journey of finding herself again. So we put together five more songs that might make you feel exactly like this one!
‘Healing’ – Fletcher
Fletcher has no shortage of self-love anthems, given that her debut album’s title girl of her dreams is herself. In ‘Healing,’ she seems to be in the same stage of rediscovering herself as Sasha is in ‘Me Again.’ Though she doesn’t shy away from her challenges, she’s optimistic that she will be herself soon.
‘Love Me More’ – Maggie Rose
Sometimes to love yourself you have to lose someone you thought was important to you. That’s what Maggie is going through. If you need a hopeful song, this is for you, because Maggie sounds like she’s finally tasted freedom. She sings “I was losing myself until you lost me.” Wow. What a line.
‘Healing Hurts’ – BLÜ EYES
We’d love to give you all uplifting songs about healing, but of course, we need to include a soul-crushing option. For those of you hoping to stick closer to the slow, sad vibe of Sasha’s ‘Me Again,’ you can’t go wrong with BLÜ EYES. She sings “It gets better till it just gets worse.” And we can’t forget about the line “I know that I’ll survive but healing f*cking hurts sometimes.”
‘Right Now’ – Gracie Abrams
Gracie manages to perfectly capture the conflict between self-love and struggling to leave your past. If you’re going through a major change right now, we highly encourage you to check this song out. While Sasha sings in ‘Me Again’ “But I can’t wait to feel like me again,” Gracie says “I feel like myself right now.” And the parallels in the lyrics don’t stop there. So we’re willing to bet if you like one, you’ll love the other.
‘Wildflower Woman’ – Little Luna
We’ve got everything here from the dark realities of healing from anything to the euphoria of coming out better in the end. Little Luna’s the wildflower woman EP is essential if you’re looking for songs about the latter. The title track especially shows a woman unafraid to live her best life despite whatever she’s gone through.
Here at The Honey POP, we want nothing more than to promote self-love. And we’re glad that Sasha Alex Sloan did most of the work for us with ‘Me Again.’ Do you like our picks?
