When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go? We Don’t Know, But We Do Know We Love These Billie Eilish Music Videos

If you survived the When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go? Era, you deserve federal reimbursement. The album that changed lives dropped five years ago, on March 29, 2019, has since captured new Billie fans by the heartstrings and has been a safe space for OG Billie Eilish fans to return to time and time again. Before BE3, we still look back at When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go? and reminisce on our favorite songs, but more on our favorite music videos.

‘Xanny’

We have to highlight ‘xanny’ first because it’s our favorite music video from the When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go? Era! It shows a more mature version of Billie and features her in brown hair for one of the first times. If you didn’t know, Billie directed this video herself, and we have to say it came out perfectly. The juxtaposition of intense bass drops and airy, lyrical verses comes across in this video with thick black smoke and an all-white outfit. Ok, attention to detail! 👏

‘Bury A Friend’

There is no talking about the 2019 Billie era without talking about ‘bury a friend.’ The icon, the legend, ‘bury a friend’ will go down in history as one of Billie’s best music videos. With over 500 million views, it’s clearly a fan favorite. Billie’s ability to take the horror genre 🩸 and make it fit into the pop music genre makes her music uniquely her own, and is also heard throughout the entire When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go? album. At THP, we are suckers for a concept album, and Billie is definitely one to deliver!

‘You Should See Me In A Crown’

Forget seeing us in a crown 👑; you should see us when we hear this song live…its a lot of screaming and jumping. Aside from the insanity that this song brings to a mosh pit, the music video is simple yet sweet. The spider 🕷️ in this video will go down in history as one of the best celebrity pets. Who else wanted a blue spider as a pet because of Billie!? Just us? Don’t worry; we ended up sticking with a goldfish, but we sure were tempted.

We also love the video produced by Takashi Murakami and have to give it a special shoutout! We love it when two artists collaborate to create something new and exciting for fans and the end result is always so cool!

If you still have your Takashi Murakami x Billie Eilish merch like us, we salute you soldier 🫡.

‘When The Party’s Over’

If you need time to cry, now is your chance. One of Billie’s first music videos she directed on her own holds a very special place in our hearts. In 2019, we all wanted dark blue hair 💙 and black goo seeping from our eyes! WTPO is one of the most streamed Billie music videos, and for a good reason! Her artistic vision comes through with every shot, and her evolution of directing since this video is drastic (in the best way possible!).

‘Bad Guy’

Our bad girl era was inspired right from this video. With 1.2 billion views, we are confident you also lived your bad-girl era during ‘bad guy.’ This video is more carefree and silly compared to some of her other more serious videos from this era, but the transition into the darker part at the end is everything! I know the first time we watched it, we were entranced and couldn’t look away. 👀

‘I Love You’

This isn’t the official music video, but we had to throw this specific performance in there. If you are a Billie stan, you know everything there is to know about this performance of ‘i love you.’ If you don’t understand the lore…watch the Apple + documentary The World’s A Little Blurry and get back to us 🤝. ‘I love you’ gets a special shoutout from us as it makes us weep every time, especially hearing it live. The day we get to cry in the middle of Central Park is the day we peak.

Craving more Billie Eilish content? We’ve got you, honeybee!

We aren’t sure there is going to be another Billie album that will top When We All Fall Asleep Where Do We Go? but we have high hopes for BE3.
