Guess what? One of the best pop stars in the world is back, and that statement is not an exaggeration. Lay Zhang has returned with a new single, ‘Psychic,’ and we’re not sure how a global megastar can become even more worldwide, but we figure we’re about to find out!

LAY’s ‘Psychic’ is perfect pop from the perfect pop star. The funky bassline and house influences create a vibe that’s “looking real bright,” just like Lay’s future. On top of that, the tongue-in-cheek lyrics and confidence have us hooked. Come on, who doesn’t wanna sing along to “K-I-S-S-I-N-G?”
And luckily for fans, LAY’s dedication to catering to the whole world continues. ‘Psychic’ is available in three different languages: Chinese, English, and Korean. Even during LAY’s livestream ahead of the music video premiere, he graciously switched between the three languages the way we switch through apps.

The music video for ‘Psychic’ couldn’t be a better accompaniment. The sense of fun and silliness in the lyrics comes through perfectly in the visuals! Lay is lost in the desert, but somehow, his headphones still work, and he discovers an abandoned love potion? Ok? The choreography, especially the dance break, incorporating Lay discovering his new magic powers, is so well done, but what else would you expect from a performer as talented as Lay? And don’t judge us if you catch us googling how to become camels.
‘Psychic’ Promotions
One of the very best things about Lay Zhang’s ‘Psychic?’ The fact that he’s promoting on Korean music shows! As a long-time member of one of K-Pop‘s most celebrated groups, EXO, we absolutely love seeing LAY return to this format for the first time in years! He might be confused by the phenomenon of ending fairies, but he still slayed. Or s-LAY-ed. 👀
