If you didn’t already know, we love Orville Peck! It started with Pony, and honestly, we can’t believe it has been five years since its release! And now we have the new Orville Peck album, Stampede Vol. 1, which, oh my god, we are loving.
Stampede Vol. 1
Okay, so for those who don’t follow Orville Peck, Stampede is a collab album consisting of a couple of covers of some iconic Country songs and some new tracks featuring some pretty iconic people. We’re going to insert the tracklist below so you can take a quick peak…
Stampede Vol. 1 tracklist:
- ‘Cowboys Are Frequently Secretly Fond Of Each Other (with Willie Nelson)’
- ‘The Hurtin’ Kind (with Midland)’
- ‘Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting) (with Elton John)’
- ‘Chemical Sunset (with Allison Russell)’
- ‘How Far Will We Take It? (with Noah Cyrus)’
- ‘Miénteme (with Bu Cuaron)’
- ‘Conquer The Heart (with Nathaniel Rateliff)’
Were we right, or were we right? So, as we mentioned, the album has a couple of covers: ‘Cowboys Are Frequently Secretly Fond Of Each Other,’ as well as ‘Saturday Night’s Alright (For Fighting).’ And though we love those tracks (we really do), we must say we love the original tracks a lot more. It’s just something about songs that Orville makes that makes them instantly so good. And because it came out a few days ago, we’ve been able to sit with it, and we have picked our top three original tracks from Stampede Vol. 1.
‘How Far Will We Take It? (With Noah Cyrus)’
We honestly always imagined Orville covering ‘I Got So High That I Saw Jesus,’ and Noah covering ‘C’mon Baby, Cry’ so we have been dying for a collab like ‘How Far Will We Take It?’ Their vocals are just so heavenly together; they just fit so well as a duet. Also, this is the first track from the album with a music video, and we just love how Orville and Noah drive off together in the end, especially after that love triangle *whew*.
“I felt the fire but couldn’t see the flames
You didn’t say it, but I know that you fеlt the same“
‘Miénteme (With Bu Cuaron)’
We are suckers for Spanglish tracks, so ‘Miénteme’ had to make our fave tracklist. We had never imagined hearing Orville sing in Spanish, but we have to say we were very impressed. This is honestly really different than his past tracks, and we think new and old fans of his would love it. Plus, those vocals in the intro are stunning. Also, this is us telling you, you should be listening to more Bu Cuaron tracks 😘
“Amor no correspondido es tiempo perdido
Pero miente, querida, por vida miénteme”
‘Conquer The Heart (With Nathaniel Rateliff)’
‘Conquer The Heart’ closes Stampede and also closes our list; this one is one we can’t help but scream sing. Just imagine blasting this in your car, windows down, wind in your hair, singing along with your friends, and getting lost in the moment. There are so many things to love about this track, you know, like their vocals blending so smoothly together, and y’all, that saxophone simply had us on our knees. Need we say more?
“Never been lost in a moment
But there’s hours I can’t recall”

If you aren’t sold yet, we don’t know what to tell you, but maybe check out Stampede Vol. 1 in its entirety, which you can do here.
