June kicked off with a bang, thanks to Lay Zhang announcing his new album! STEP will be out on June 14th, and every bit of info we have so far is only getting us more hyped for its release! Naturally, we need to get this off our chests, and we know so many THP readers are down just as bad for Lay as we are. So, without further ado, here are all the reasons why we can’t wait for STEP!
Collaborations And Co-Writers
Of course, Lay is a superstar in his own right, but that doesn’t mean STEP is a one-man project! Lay has worked with some huge names on this album. Of course, STEP‘s tracklist includes ‘Run Back To You,’ his iconic collab with LAUV, but that’s not all! Credits on the album are also given to some certified hitmakers!

All-English Album
Another reason to be hyped for STEP? It’s going to be Lay Zhang’s first all-English album! Lay has been a truly global star for over a decade, so it honestly makes sense that he would add to his already multilingual discography with a full-English release. As international fans, we hope this allows Lay to reach even more audiences worldwide!
Title Track And Tracklist
Lay took the phrase “title track” literally with STEP, as that’s exactly what the lead single is called too. There’s already a preview on social media and he’s performed the track at some fan meetings, all of which has only made our anticipation rise! No, we’re not over the ‘Psychic’ promotions, but thanks for asking! We absolutely loved seeing Lay return to Korean music shows to promote the track, and it’s already got us wondering how he might celebrate STEP… Can we expect to see him on the likes of MCountdown again? Or as it’s an English release, will we see some stateside promotion?
Tour To Come And Movie Magic
So what’s next? Well, there’s an international tour is on the horizon! Asian and American EXO-Ls better keep their eyes peeled when we have more details…
And that’s not all! Even if you don’t make it to a coming-soon tour date, Lay has a movie release, too! Starring opposite the one and only Jackie Chan, A Legend, the sequel to Jackie’s 2005 film The Myth!
