Towa Bird Makes A ‘Deep Cut’ In Our Hearts With New Music Video

Here in the hive, we love celebrating queer artists with every buzz we get! Artists like Towa Bird have shown us the beauty and pure joy that comes from being uniquely yourself and creating music that matches that. Bird’s latest album American Hero has had us in a complete chokehold since it dropped. Tracks like ‘Wild Heart’ and ‘Deep Cut’ are on a loop for us honeybees. Thankfully Towa heard our pleas and has dropped a visualizer for ‘Deep Cut,’ and as the name implies, it’s cutting deep into our hearts.

“These songs are me being completely honest about queer love and all its essence; there’s a lot of yearning and vulnerability and dealing with difficult emotions. I grew up listening to so many male-gazey love songs, and it was important to put something out into the world that felt like the music I wanted for myself when I was a kid.”

Towa Bird stated in a press release

Towa’s ‘Deep Cut’ music video is silly, fun, and imaginative just like her. It’s the perfect expression of Towa’s personality, sending the message that music is never that serious, and we’re all just here to have a good time. We see Towa in various random green screen scenes like standing under Big Ben in London, in the middle of a thunderstorm, or in a lit-up dance club.

No matter where in the world, we are here to support Towa during each of her music drops! (Although dancing with her in a club would be the ideal setting.) Our favorite moment had to be when she was playing in a band….of only herself. Towa as a one-woman band including the drummer, guitarist, and tambourine player? Sign us up for front-row seats!

Even though we love hearing Towa get vulnerable and serious on her other tracks, we can’t get enough of the carefree energy that American Hero is bringing! 2024 looks to be an exciting rest of the year for Towa. And we are so glad we jumped on the stan-train early on in the game. Just getting into Towa’s music? It’s not too late!
