We Have ‘Taste,’ Our Favorite Short n’ Sweet Tracks Prove It!

The day has finally arrived, Short n’ Sweet is here for our listening pleasure! As if we had any doubt before, Sabrina Carpenter is most definitely one of the mainstays in pop music. And she just may have released the best album of this year, and that is saying a lot with what a great year this has been for music! With each track we were becoming more and more convinced that Sabrina had managed to understand the best of 2000s pop, and the best of modern pop in a way no other artist has managed to do. We couldn’t be more ready to break down our three favorite tracks with all of you! Let’s jump in!

‘Taste’

Listen, there is a reason this is the newest focus track and got a music video. Which by the way, we could write a whole article about how much we love this music video, and how gagged we were that Jenna Ortega was the co-star. This track showcases the best of Sabrina Carpenter, from witty lyrics to unreal vocals, this is our favorite single from this era so far. (We are so sorry ‘Espresso’ we will always love you, and you will always be famous.)

‘Bed Chem’

After our initial listen-through of Short n’ Sweet, ‘Bed Chem’ was the obvious front-runner for our favorite track. The wittiest lyrics on the entire record were found on this track. Let’s face it, after this track, we are convinced Sabrina could write Shakespeare, but Shakespeare definitely couldn’t write ‘Bed Chem.’ This song live is going to be a top-tier experience.

‘Slim Pickins’

The country-pop worlds colliding on ‘Slim Pickins’ made this track a no-brainer when it came to our top three! We were pretty sure when we heard the live performance of this track earlier this month that it was going to be a standout, and boy were we right! Sabrina’s voice was made to be accompanied by backing music like the one in this track. A true match made in musical heaven.
