In this cover, Jade reimagined ‘Backbone’ by Chase & Status and Stormzy and made it her own. Now, the lyrics talk about her life, and from the instruments to the vocals, we can hear Jade’s Arabic roots. This is a cover that’s going to get stuck in your head for good.

‘The Chain’ by Fleetwood Mac, Cover by Harry Styles
You can never go wrong with a cover by Harry. However, we think his cover of ‘The Chain’ by Fleetwood Mac is for the books. The mix between Sarah Jones on the drums, Mitch Rowland on the guitar, and Harry’s voice fits perfectly with the rock genre. If you have a dad who loves ’70s rock, he will love this cover. Who knows, we may have a new Harry stan entering the room. And if the cover doesn’t work, you can always say that Harry and Stevie Nicks are besties!
‘No Roots’ by Alice Merton, Cover by 5 Seconds of Summer
Listen, back in 2018, there weren’t as many Ashton Irwin vocals to hear as we do today (I mean, now we have two solo albums). When this cover dropped, everyone went crazy. The reason behind this was that Ashton sang most of the song and gave a performance that all 5SOS fans remember to this day, including us. His tone of voice adapted beautifully to the music, and he also made a great duet with Luke. Both of their voices were made to be heard together, which gave us a glimpse of future 5SOS music. Even though we love this cover, we are glad we can now listen to Ashton’s voice whenever we want.
‘Sucker’ by The Jonas Brothers, Cover by Halsey
We don’t know who the main character in this song is: Halsey’s raspy voice, the electric guitar, or the saxophone. We do know for a fact that Halsey gave her authentic and versatile touch to this version of the song. Halsey’s voice never lets us down, for its uniqueness is something that always amazes us. With that being said, in this cover, Halsey brings a mysterious but also chill vibe to the performance, which allows us to see how she can transform a pop song into whatever she wants. Our recommendation? Hear this cover after a long day, close your eyes, and enjoy the music!
‘Running Up That Hill’ by Kate Bush, Cover by RAYE
This cover is all about emoting and feeling connected to the lyrics. In the past years, RAYE has shown us that she’s one of the best voices of this generation. This cover is no exception. Her voice is complemented by the violins and the cello, giving Kate Bush’s version a dramatic twist. Also, RAYE sings the lyrics in such an emotional way that we can’t help but get chills while watching her performance. There are tons of fantastic ‘Running Up That Hill’ covers out in the world; however, after this cover, we have to say that RAYE sang the song like it was hers.
