Every member in Stray Kids plays a key role in making their music as impactful, recognizable, and unique as it is. It is no secret that if a Stray Kids song starts with Changbin, you’re sure it’s going to be a banger. His bold, loud voice full of personality and presence has given us some of the most iconic Stray Kids openers, to the point that it has its own name: bintros. From our favorites to the best and the most iconic, here are the eight that changed our lives forever!
‘God’s Menu’ (GO LIVE, 2020)
Let’s start with the undeniable legend that is ‘God’s Menu.’ The switch in K-Pop history started with a few notes and Changbin‘s witty, addictive rap. Every word in this verse is burned into the brains of millions, from the soft and fun “ne sonnim” to the rhythmic and addictive flow throughout the rap. It seems only right that Changbin would both open and close this iconic song with his verse.
‘Give Me Your TMI’ (MAXIDENT, 2022)
If you want a prime example of Changbin‘s quick, witty verses, his rap at the beginning of ‘Give Me Your TMI‘ is just it. It sets the tone right away for a fun, cheeky song. His inclusion of ad-libs and sound effects in raps, as seen in songs like ‘We Go,’ is always the ones that stick the most. It’s fun, unique, and luring. Changbin just knows how to set the tone for an entire song.
‘My Pace’ (I am WHO, 2018)
One of the earliest bintros, but still to this day one of the most iconic. Now, unlike other bintros, ‘My Pace‘ is short and simple, but its impact is beyond words. That melody is instantly recognizable everywhere, and Changbin‘s tone made it absolutely unforgettable. It goes to show Changbin wouldn’t even need a witty rap to make an impact. The intro is full of power and personality, and that’s how you know Changbin’s voice is a key element in Stray Kids‘ music – he did all of that with just a “nananana.”
‘DOMINO’ (NOEASY, 2021)
Of course, one of Stray Kids‘ most iconic B-sides had to start with Changbin’s verse, and what a verse. ‘DOMINO‘ is a great example of how Changbin plays with flow and rhythm, making every single song irresistible. And the way he absolutely commands the beginning of the choreography makes this verse even more satisfying.
‘S-Class’ (5-STAR, 2023)
No one but Changbin could’ve opened such an intricate, bold song. His voice breaks the calm after Felix’s whistle, starting such an iconic song with a literal bang. Just like ‘S-Class’ as a whole, Changbin’s opening is unapologetic, bold, loud, and unlike anything out there. ‘S-Class‘ is that kind of song that truly no one but Stray Kids could’ve done, and a big part of it is Changbin. And to think his bintro isn’t even his most iconic moment in ‘S-Class’ says it all.
‘Lonely St.’ (ODDINARY, 2022)
Changbin is an all-rounder, that’s just a fact. He’s mostly known for his loud, bold, and witty rap verses, but he also has an extremely impactful singing voice. ‘Lonely St.‘ is a B-side out of ODDINARY that became so important in Stray Kids‘ discography. It’s a complex song that explores loneliness and resilience, and every emotion is palpable in Changbin’s voice. With its pop-rock sound, the raspiness and power of Changbin‘s voice fit perfectly and beautifully to open such a powerful song.
‘TOP’ (GO LIVE, 2020)
‘TOP’ is one of Stray Kids‘ most striking songs, even today. It’s grand, and dramatic, and one of their best OSTs. The feeling we get when the music builds in power, only to stop right before Changbin delivers his rap, is a sentiment that truly never gets old. But we cannot talk about this bintro without talking about the genius of the choreography. For the start of his verse, they lift Changbin up, and it’s chill-inducing every single time.
‘Thunderous’ (NOEASY, 2021)
The entire reason why the term ‘bintro’ was coined is this: ‘Thunderous.’ They took the world by storm in 2021, and ‘Thunderous‘ is iconic from its first second to the last. The way Changbin opens up the song has to be one of the most memorable moments in the song, Stray Kids’ discography, and, frankly, in K-Pop. Shouting your own name at the top of your lungs with such confidence in your talent and your path is truly something only Seo Changbin could do. Not only did the intro go viral, but it also had its own special moment during their Maniac Tour, and with good reason. This is the prime example of why bintros are everything.
