Summer Official By Rebekah Weatherspoon

Our first April audiobook recommendation is Rebekah Weatherspoon’s new sapphic romance, Summer Official! It’s an opposites-attract summer romance between the bubbly, athletic Saylor Ford and the grumpy, artistic Heaven Goo-Campbell. A bad fall at basketball camp leaves Saylor stranded at home with her social media influencer mom. Meanwhile, Heaven’s spending the summer trying to launch her tattoo career, establish a social media presence, and complete the bingo card her parents put together. Saylor jumps at the opportunity to help Heaven with her summer plans, and not just because she’s had a huge crush on Heaven for forever.

Save The Date By Mallory Kass

You may know Mallory Kass by her pen name Kass Morgan, as in The 100 by Kass Morgan! She’s back with her adult debut novel, Save the Date. It’s a rom-com centered around a wedding that goes all the way wrong. The bride-to-be Marigold has a secret that could jeopardize the wedding. Her maid of honor Natalie debates confessing to her true love. The bride’s sister Olivia enters a fake relationship with the best man. Each character’s love life is truly chaotic and messy in the best way. And we definitely gasped, screamed, and laughed out loud while listening to the audiobook.

Stranger Things Have Happened By Kasie West

The next April audiobook recommendation is Kasie West‘s new adult rom-com, Stranger Things Have Happened! After too many drinks and a major point to prove, Sutton finds herself agreeing to a month-long couples therapy program with a complete stranger. Elijah is the brother of her best friend Tara’s fiance, and Sutton’s helping Tara prove the benefits of therapy. Elijah, on the other hand, is convinced that a therapist wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between real love and fake love. But as they attend these sessions together, Sutton and Elijah’s seemingly fake relationship turns into very true and unnerving feelings.

Ambrosia Lee Drops The Mic By Patricia Park

Finally, we have Patricia Park‘s new YA novel, Ambrosia Lee Drops the Mic! Former child actress Ambrosia Lee has just been going through the motions. Her acting career peaked when she was 11, after which she was fired due to her weight. Many years, auditions, and rejections later, Ambrosia decides to branch out and turns to stand-up comedy. It helps that she’s learning the ropes of a comedy routine from a cute boy. But it’s not long before Ambrosia discovers that comedy clubs can be just as toxic as Hollywood. We loved listening to this audiobook and have now made it our mission to attend as many women-led comedy shows as we can.
