BIGBANG’s world tour is quickly approaching, V.I.P.s! Tickets for BIGBANG‘s North American and European dates have already gone on sale last week. How did you fare? Oakland now has an additional date on September 4, and those tickets will be available June 30 starting at 10 a.m. for BIGBANG’s b.stage members and 12 p.m. for the general sale.
For the past few weeks, we’ve been trying to figure out what songs we’d include on our ideal BIGBANG tour setlist. Their discography (group and solo) has too many hits to name. And it was so hard to narrow down our favorites. At this rate, their concerts will have to go on all night long. (We’re hoping for three hours worth of throwbacks and potential new releases.) So until we get any confirmation on the setlist, here are 15 BIGBANG songs we’d love to see on their world tour.
Debut & Early Years
‘Always’ (2007)
One of the first songs that we’d ever heard by BIGBANG, ‘Always’ will always have a special place in our hearts. It is the last track on their Always EP in 2007 and even has an English version, which we were memorizing in elementary school. This love song has BIGBANG-levels of yearning, which explains why we’ve been obsessed for nearly two decades.
‘Last Farewell’ (2007)
Can you imagine hearing ‘Last Farewell’ on tour? As soon as the “Bass” line and G-DRAGON‘s intro hit, we’ll be jumping out of our seats and pumping our fists in a frenzy. It’s the closing track on BIGBANG’s Hot Issue EP in 2007 and the perfect song to play at the dance club or on any night out. We’d be happy even if we get just one part of ‘Last Farewell’ in a medley.
‘Make Love’ (2008)
Okay, we know how delusional we sound right now. But if we don’t hope for the best, then what are we living for? Whether it’s the Korean or the English version, ‘Make Love’ is one of our all-time favorite BIGBANG songs. That’s it. That’s the tweet. We knew exactly where we were when we first heard it, and it helped us through the trenches of middle school and the group’s hiatus a few years later.
‘Sunset Glow’ (2008)
BIGBANG‘s world tour starts in the final weeks of summer, making ‘Sunset Glow’ a must-have on the setlist. It’s the third track on their second Korean studio album, Remember. And with another iconic intro of “It’s BIGGGGBANG,” this upbeat song would be perfect at the beginning or the middle of the concert to get the crowd’s energy even more hyped. At least, it’d work on us.
‘Tonight’ (2011)
Speaking of getting us even more hyped, ‘TONIGHT’ from BIGBANG’s 2011 EP, TONIGHT, would also make us go crazy in the stands. The beat drop is that serious to us. And the electronic instrumental in ‘TONIGHT’ brings all the vibes we need to make every night a beautiful night. Especially the night we’ll finally get to see BIGBANG on their first tour since 2017.
‘Monster’ (2012)
We love our hype BIGBANG songs, but sometimes we need angsty BIGBANG too. And ‘Monster’ from their Special Edition: Still Alive repackaged album does the trick. From the haunting piano melodies to the lyrics full of regret and despair, this song hits us hard. Daesung and Taeyang‘s vocals in the chorus are the main reason we keep replaying ‘Monster.’
MADE Era & Beyond
‘LOSER’ (2015)
While we’re on the topic of angsty BIGBANG, ‘LOSER’ has held the crown for the group’s most angsty song since its release in 2015. This heart-wrenching track marked the end of their three-year hiatus and the start of the MADE series. ‘LOSER’ takes us back to high school, feeling like no one really understands us. Then BIGBANG came in and made us feel seen on the most personal level.
‘BANG BANG BANG’ (2015)
If you needed proof that everyone can recognize BIGBANG’s discography from the first few seconds, play this song to any K-Pop fan. We guarantee that ‘BANG BANG BANG’ will have them on their feet in no time. And we’re still jealous of fans who got to see them perform at Coachella. We’re hoping we get ‘BANG BANG BANG’ as an encore song, which would literally ensure that the show goes out with a (BIG) bang!
‘FXXK IT’ (2016)
In our humble opinion, we don’t think people talk about ‘FXXK IT’ enough. Marking the conclusion to BIGBANG’s MADE album in 2016, it’s an electronic hip-hop track that is such an easy listen. We were (and still are) especially obsessed with the lyricism and wordplay. And if we got the chance to hear ‘FXXK IT’ live, we wouldn’t be able to stop talking about it to everyone we know.
‘FLOWER ROAD’ (2018)
‘FLOWER ROAD’ hits so much harder when you’ve lived BIGBANG’s history alongside them. With no promotions or performances, this 2018 single was released as a goodbye to fans while the members enlisted in the military. It was such a bittersweet farewell at the time. Yet no one could’ve predicted how the next several years would change BIGBANG and K-Pop as we know it.
‘Still Life’ (2022)
We’ll be packing extra tissues in our concert bag since we’re expecting BIGBANG to play ‘Still Life.’ Each member completed their military service, Coachella announced the group’s performance in 2020, then the COVID-19 pandemic rocked the world. Yet we didn’t give up hope, and we’re so glad we waited. If BIGBANG plays ‘Still Life’ right after ‘Flower Road,’ we will start sobbing uncontrollably.
‘HOME SWEET HOME’ (2024)
And if they deliver a triple whammy with ‘HOME SWEET HOME,’ we might have to be dragged out of the venue. We all remember the years in between, not knowing when BIGBANG would reunite as a group. Taeyang held down the fort with solo releases and concerts. Daesung had his YouTube channel and variety show appearances. All we needed was G-DRAGON to feel ready enough to step back into the spotlight. ‘HOME SWEET HOME’ changed our lives, even more so with the trio’s iconic 2024 MAMA Awards performance.
Solo Songs
If BIGBANG does a solo section of the setlist like they did at Coachella, we’d be forever grateful. We don’t have enough time (today) to dive into their respective solo discographies. But we do have time to pick one solo song for each member that we’d love to see on BIGBANG’s world tour.
G-DRAGON – ‘IBELONGIIU’ (2025)
We could never forget G-DRAGON’s historical return with his 2025 Übermensch album! And although we have too many favorite songs from this record (‘TOO BAD,’ we’re looking at you), we’d especially love to see him perform ‘IBELONGIIU’ in his solo set. It’s charming and romantic with a killer bridge that would be an incredible addition to the setlist.
Taeyang – ‘BAD’ (2026)
Following BIGBANG’s explosive Coachella performances in April, Taeyang released his new solo album, QUINTESSENCE, in May. And ‘BAD,’ the album’s opening track, is sure to get the stadium popping. With a beat and a choreography that can’t be touched, we can already imagine how electric the energy will be when he plays this banger.
Daesung – ‘Universe’ (2025)
Last but not least, we’d love to see Daesung perform ‘Universe’ from his first Korean EP in 2025: D’s WAVE. Don’t get us wrong; we adore his trot songs like ‘HANDO-CHOGUA.’ But ‘Universe’ has us in a bigger chokehold. The guitar melodies and Daesung’s passionate vocals make us feel like there’s still hope in the world. It would be perfect to hear this song in an open-air stadium and starlight projections.
