As you all know, we take the spooky season seriously over at THP. And this THPloween, we’ve got so much costume inspiration and song recommendations to make the most out of this year’s Halloweekend!
If you’re still not sure what you want to dress up as, we’re giving you five Halloween costumes based on these WONHO songs. From his most recent comeback to a deep cut or two, these songs are also perfect for getting ready before your next party!
‘Don’t Wake Me Up!’ – Rebel
The first song we’re taking costume inspiration from is ‘Don’t Wake Me Up!’ The title track from WONHO‘s latest EP, CORE, this song is a certified club banger with a dystopian-style music video. So for Halloween this year, we’re thinking a rebel costume would best suit this song. Grab a ski mask and pair it with casual, street style clothes. You can also DIY a picket sign to complete the look! (Bonus points if it’s relevant to a cause you feel passionate about.)
‘Test Drive’ – Race Car Driver
A B-side from the same EP, WONHO‘s ‘Test Drive’ is another one of our favorites on this list. There’s no better feeling than blasting this track on a drive to nowhere with all of the windows rolled down. And we couldn’t think of a better Halloween costume for ‘Test Drive’ than a race car driver or any athlete from a racing sport. Don a leather jacket and pants, and complete the outfit with a racing helmet, driving gloves, and a mini checkered flag, or perhaps even a toy car for extra whimsy!
‘Good Liar’ – Pants On Fire
The next WONHO song to inspire your costume is ‘Good Liar’ from his first full album, SYNDROME. It’s catchy, it’s real, and it’s a masterpiece. If you wanted to go the unserious route this Halloween, then we recommend you add some (fake) flames to your pants. You can get creative here with some construction paper, cardstock, or even felt. Then tape or glue those bad boys on, and you’re the perfect visual of a good liar with your pants on fire.
‘Devil’ – Devil (What Else?)
Next up, we have WONHO‘s ‘Devil’ from his second EP, Love Synonym #2: Right for Us. His vocals are especially seductive on this track, which really sells the concept. You just can’t go wrong with a devil costume for Halloween! But to match the aesthetics of this track, we’re thinking some blue horns and a blue tail over the classic red. And a cape is a must. We’ll need you to feel confident enough to flirt a little extra on Halloween because that’s what WONHO would want you to do.
‘Open Mind’ – Zombie
We still can’t believe it’s been six years since WONHO released ‘Open Mind!’ Yes, we know it’s a little on the nose, but a zombie costume would match this song perfectly. Although WONHO boldly sings about a one-night stand, we’re taking the words “open mind” literally this Halloween. You’ll need tattered clothes, green or gray face paint, and a fake brain to complete the zombie look. Feel free to sing this song and tell everyone to keep their minds open all night long.
